my first video that I watched as I think its time to transition to cloud network engr. As over 4 yrs on premise network engineer (29yr old), companies migrates their operations to cloud and let the service providers cater their needs. As time goes by, seems its getting less and less in need for onpremise network engr. Only the ones with years of exp or seniors can land on the open spots in the market. Freshers has almost no way to land onpremise net. engr job, unless they are for only monitoring and vendors and carrier handles the implem and deployment. Thanks for all the information you shared. new subscriber here

Hi, yes Network engineers/network security does have a lot of scope still. You need to focus on getting a certification like the CCNA or the COMPTIA Network+ to get started. If you want to get into Network Security Ive got a perfect free playlist for you - kzbin.info/aero/PL4lVSt1uV5TlzCJepk39CRz8IPAU89VWT

Great video! In the MSP world, having reliable systems is a must-strong cybersecurity, backups, and monitoring are essential. UCaaS platforms like the Thirdlane Multi Tenant PBX are key to ensuring secure communication and smooth operations

Been studying comptia for abit over 12 months now, been a slow painful grind working 40+ hours and trying to study afterwards. Hoping it leads to a job, living in Melbourne myself I hope once I am ready that all this wont be for nothing :')

CBT Nuggets was a game changer for me when it came to sub-netting (finally)! The instructor had a method called "The Finger Game" that I was able to rattle off in my head any time to come up with subnets or hosts, even with variable length subnet mask.

thanks it was informative! ive heard that Cybersec is a stressful job due to its reactive and critical thinking nature and you are supposed to be with your laptop all the time? is that true? how'd you rate the stress level of a tier 1 soc analyst?
@thesocialdork113313 күн бұрын
Your welcome! Cybersec is pretty analytical however the stress depends a lot on the Organisation you work for as well. Usually companies follow a “follow the sun model” which means that you work only in your assigned shifts.
@thejassksks14 күн бұрын
hey buddy! i heard that cybersecurity is stressful job as its a reactive and critical thinking nature and sleepless nights or they might even ask you to work on your days off and youve to be always infront of your monitor. Interest and passion aside, is this true? if yes then how'd you rate the stress level on a scale of 10?
@thesocialdork113313 күн бұрын
On a scale of 1-10 the stress level would be at a 5 to be honest, as per my previous comment, it depends a lot on the organisation you work for as well

I am working as an IT Support Engineer. My responsibilities include supporting clients in configuring and maintaining their firewalls and network devices. What certifications would help me land a job in network security roles? I am already proficient with firewalls. Can I transition directly to a Network Security Engineer role, or is that not possible? If I can make the transition, which certifications would be helpful?
@thesocialdork113313 күн бұрын
Yes you can! Certifications that would help could be PCSNA/ NSE certs / Comptia Sec+ Check my videos on Network Security to get a better idea

Thank you for the information. I have a question: If I have completed a course but am unable to write the exams due to personal reasons, do you know of any companies that hire based on skills rather than certifications? Additionally, do I need to demonstrate my cybersecurity skills through unconventional means before being recognized as proficient in the field?
@thesocialdork113317 күн бұрын
If you cannot write the exam that's fine, just mention that you've done the coursework on your resume. You can demonstrated your skills by showing you completed/built hands on labs.
