Is there a way to apply the duratex smoothly? So you don't get a texture on the outside but do get the thick layer?

Nice. Upgrading some old 3 ways, deciding between this and the exohyde. The y look like very similar products, about the same price, so I'm gonna watch videos until I'm convinced one way or the other. I like seeing how things are done too, good job on the explanations and demo.

Someone gave me an idea for a cheaper alternative. Gallon size tile glue. Dump some flat black paint into it. Stir and then apply to the wood.

Yikes. Spackle? That WILL chip off. I would use maybe bondo or a wood filler at least.

I just did my first speaker, it already had black paint and I only needed one coat, so I have heaps left. The only question I have is this: The top lid of the bucket was quite hard to get off, but now I have a problem putting it back on, it just sits on top. Is that normal? I am thinking about finding a heavy object to put on top of the lid so that the paint inside does not dry out. Is there something I am not doing right?
