Great video. I'm just about to do my DIY studio monitors that I have had for 30 years and are battered. I found this very informative. I want a smoothish finish so is it advisable to add water to both coats? Thanks a million for taking the time to share this. I bet those baby's rock. Horn loaded scoops always sound good. What drivers are you using? I have a preference for EV and a Uk company called Volt but yours look like Eminence or dare I say JBL...... Martin from Liverpool England. Stay safe.

How does one get a more "pebble" type of smooth feeling finish vs "rough" texture? This product is AMAZING by the way.

We used to paint the cabinets flat black with latex to act as a primer. Then coat the cabinets with commercial contact cement (as in the kind you put Formica on with) once that dries, then apply the two top coats. We sprayed the contact cement using a blown out tip in the cup gun.(i.e., a well-used tip that was worn out )

It's thick enough to do vertical. Applies very similar to paint. Just a bit thicker.

I believe you can buy it in grey. I know a guy who did all his cabinets with grey. Im pretty sure he just bought it that way.

They sell white. I would mix the two. Adding latex paint might mess with the consistency and will definitely sacrifice durability

We recommend doing a spot adhesion test first. Some fiberglass has solvent chemicals that could prevent adhesion of the DuraTex.
