If anyone struggleing, there is an error: in d/dx , when expressed, the d/d(phi) member should be with a negative sign (it appears around 4:03)

The way you started the video I thought it was gonna be like drink water, don't procrastinate kind of videos but this was actually tremendously useful. How can you say that everyone knows that already in the into? At least for me I have a terrible sense of timing. Most of the time I can't judge how many days I should study and by what quantity. I always forget to write down things and do the simple math just like you did which would apparently save me a lot down the road.

I can think of so many times in life when I screwed up in school and many times it began by over committing myself and not making sure I had time to make sure I'm enjoying my life. I'm not saying we should blow off our work all the time to go out with friends but we do have to be mindful about making sure we are meeting our physical, emotional, and psychological needs. Those don't go away. They're as important as food and water. Remember, nature always wins so we must respect it.

As a theoretical physicist, I am feeling personally attacked by the “boundary terms are always zero” line. Because boundary terms in the Lagrangian density is our kryptonite.

This video is really special. It captures what I love and miss about research - a feeling I never quite got to experience at this depth from the undergraduate level. This feeling is exactly why after years of being in the workforce I’m returning to grad school this fall. Thank you for your genuine experience that you share through your vlog.

Thanks for the awesome explanation! I have a question about the way you multiplied M^-1 and f(x). We should get two components, not ( )+( ). No?

There is a more straightforward proof by rewriting the quantum state in terms of position(or momentum) coordinates by inner products formula. And then rewrite the quantum state in the inner product as momentum(or position) specification, and finally compare to the Fourier transform formula to get the result. The proof is much simpler.

Could a single geometrical process square ψ², t², e², c², v² forming our maths? We need to go back to r² and the three dimensional physics of the Inverse Square Law. Even back to the spherical 4πr² geometry of Huygens’ Principle of 1670. The Universe could be based on simple geometry that forms the potential for evermore complexity. Forming not just physical complexity, but also the potential for evermore-abstract mathematics.

@Andrew Dotson, This is a great idea for breakups. LOL. It delivers the bad news in a professional manner without the emotional pain. I should copy and paste one of these letters somewhere and use it as a real break up letter: "Dear (ex's name here), I regret to inform you that your admission to the wife program has not been accepted. With 200 possible candidates but only one permanent wife slot available and 3 "backup plan" slots available, our evaluation of each candidate is, naturally, highly competitive. I wish you well in your further endeavors as I am sure you will find other programs which better meet your needs. Sincerely, - me."

Labs are delayed at my school because of add/drop. Students and TAs are still working out their schedules so starting labs right away would cause a grading headache. People would completely miss lab that week or have to sit in two idential sections.
