As a Lifelong fan of this band since Nocturnal, they’ve always been so incredibly consistent and have dropped amazingly crafted albums such as Ritual, Nightbringers, Miasma and my favorite being 2007's masterpiece of Nocturnal, The Black Dahlia Murder are definitely one of the undisputed kings of modefn death metal. This track on the other hand, you can definitely detect the tight musicianship, stylings, arrangements and the guy's have done such a remarkable job keeping the traditional formula from past releases, but more emotionally charged, more tighter, and I won't lie that I've gotten really emotional not hearing Trevor's vocals or presence since his passing. Brian's not only continuing Trevor's legacy, but the rest of the guys have also played a huge phenomenon into showcasing everyone that they're not slowing down anytime soon. I cannot wait to get a promotional copy of this album and give my perception when I'm able to.
@mattmillerguitar
@mattmillerguitar 15 күн бұрын
I agree TBDM has a strong catalog and they have released nothing but solid album after solid album and Nocturnal is a classic and I really like Everblack. I definitely noticed the difference in vocals and Trevor will always be the voice of the band in my opinion. However, I think they are carrying on the legacy of the band in the most respectful and fitting way that it could have possibly be done. I'm interested to hear what your thoughts are on the album when it drops. Thanks for watching and the comment. Cheers!

I watched an interview with him about this time he missed a concert because the laptops were stolen. He does a lot of special effects and also different kinds of music that just would not sound right acoustic. His band is very good and I agree he should have did a couple songs at least. I guess he just didn't want to disappoint fans from the way it was supposed to sound. There are a lot of bands that still use a backtrack including rings of Saturn which I love. There will always be someone who doesn't like a band for whatever reason. I love falling in reverse.

I agree backing tracks aren't bad. Especially in a world where perfection is expected. A lot of bands use them and MIDI technology has excited for over 30+ years. Awesome interview. Cause of Death was maybe the first death metal album I ever bought. I was more into thrash and the slower chuggy riffs and Tardy's growling while I kinda got into them, never quite fully clicked, but Murphy's menacing, melodic playing always really stood out. I must have read about Disincarnate in some magazine, maybe like Meta Militia, and bought the cassette tape right when it came out. Never saw them, but proudly wore a shirt all the time in high school and listened that album a ton. I didn't know anyone else who listened to them sadly. The riffs, especially Monarch of the Sleeping Marches were amazing. I already really liked Testament and then I found out he'd joined them and Low came out, I was stoked. IMO it was like the only *great* thrash album in that era IMO. It took the best of thrash and some elements of death metal and you could clearly hear Murphy's influence on things. It's so awesome to get all this background of what was going on from Murphy. Thank you for this interview.

Cause of Death is a great album. James has been involved in many classic and genre defining albums. I first heard James on Spiritual Healing and was instantly a fan.
