Your video is excellent, your instructions ideal!!! Thank you so very much, you’ve encouraged me to make a few projects for myself! May I ask, what does the Repel Gel do? I’ve never heard of it.
@CaricoclayКүн бұрын
@GB58able Thank you so much for such kind words. The Repel Gel, keeps the texture mate from sticking to the clay. It also works great for keeping clay from sticking to more intricate cutters. You can find Repel Gel at Donna Kato's Etsy shop. www.etsy.com/shop/DonnaKatoPolymerClay?section_id=45358740&order=date_desc&L_MZDJMZSE-OQp6lfTRNAA&Kato%20Polymer%20Clay Thanks so much for viewing ❤️

I just love this Mokume Gane technique you created and have now watched the video about 10 times as I tried to follow you while making my own. I’m not done yet but I felt I needed to let you know how awesome this is❣️ I’ve also now watched a couple of the videos of your UV resin and mirror/chrome powders and I love the way you finished off the edges. Now I have more of your videos to watch so I can catch up. Thank you for sharing your work and processes, they are great and your pieces are beautiful ♥️🩵💜💛💙 I just had to subscribe!!! could I do the same technique with liquid polymer clay?
@Caricoclay2 ай бұрын
Hi, I'm afraid not. Liquid Clay doesn't have the right surface required to make this work. You may have some success with a polyurethane coating, like verathane or brite tone.

The work is beautiful! I have a question: why you choose translusent backing? What is the benefit of it? Doesn't do another backing the same work?
@Caricoclay3 ай бұрын
I picked translucent because it's what I had that was light colored. I would've used white but didn't have it. Lighter backgrounds affect the brightness of the top layer. However, you can use any clay color.

Hi Amy, Jill here in the U.K. thanking you for a fab, creative, artistic and easy to follow video. Thanks for sharing. Question..at the beginning you have 2 pieces of translucent but unless I missed it…didn’t see you use it. Do you just add it to the bake before baking?
@Caricoclay6 ай бұрын
Hi Jill, I did use the 2nd piece, but if you blink, you may miss it. 😂 During the circle cutting part of the tutorial, I'm trying to place the cut-out circles where they are most opposite in color on the pattern. The last 2 large circles didn't have a home, so I grabbed the extra piece of translucent, placed a couple of veneer strips that I liked on it, and cut out the 2 remaining circles. It's at 14:21 in the video. Thanks for watching! ❤
