Hi Amy, Jill here in the U.K. thanking you for a fab, creative, artistic and easy to follow video. Thanks for sharing. Question..at the beginning you have 2 pieces of translucent but unless I missed it…didn’t see you use it. Do you just add it to the bake before baking?
@Caricoclay6 күн бұрын
Hi Jill, I did use the 2nd piece, but if you blink, you may miss it. 😂 During the circle cutting part of the tutorial, I'm trying to place the cut-out circles where they are most opposite in color on the pattern. The last 2 large circles didn't have a home, so I grabbed the extra piece of translucent, placed a couple of veneer strips that I liked on it, and cut out the 2 remaining circles. It's at 14:21 in the video. Thanks for watching! ❤

Where can we find the template for cutting the pendants?

Hi thanks for the question. The template is from Cool Tools.

Amy, this is the first time that I've been fortunate enough to see your creations and WOW, are they strikingly beautiful 🎉 You make it look so easy but I'm sure that the first time I try to emulate them, it'll look like a 2 year old's attempt to follow the leader! Thank you for sharing these lovely pieces with us. I can't wait to try!!!!❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Hi again. I can't find the comment I just wrote to add to it. The 2 color slab AND the accent slab together don't even look as thick as just your one color slab. m Can you just come over to show me? I'll make the coffee.
@ameswho95482 ай бұрын
This is super cool. I love it & it's not too complicated. I do have a question though. Your slabs look a lot thicker than mine do. colored clay-4th setting...accent clay-5th setting, right? I have an Atlas pasta machine that goes to 7 so maybe it's my machine making the slabs too thin. Any suggestions? thank you. I wish just ONE thing I make would turn out.
@Caricoclay22 күн бұрын
Hi, sorry to be so long in responding. I also have an atlas 150 which goes to 7. I rolled the colors on #4 and the translucent on #5. When you shave and add the straps to the translucent piece some slightly overlap but after burnishing with the wax paper and roller the veneer levels off probably to about a #4. I hope this helps. Just keep practicing. It will come together.

love this! I didn´t catch what mixture of clay you use to make the bail so that it has flexibility. Could ou write out the two clays that you mixed before extruding to achieve the flexibility for the bail. Many thanks...just found your channel and a loving the tutotials...

Hi thanks for your question. I use soft Cosclay, and Sculpey Premo. About 50/50 ratio. Thank you for tuning in.
@user-pe8cu1vs6d6 ай бұрын
how did you finish the pendat itself? did you put varnish on the pendant or some kind of sealant or just sand and buff? I ask because of the shine. Thank you

Thanks for asking. I just sanded and buffed this one.

Very pretty. I really like your bale. I think for variation, one of those circles would be pretty on the circle of the bale also.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. You could definitely incorporate one of the circles into it as the bail base. Give it a try and let me know how it goes. 💗

About the Cos clay, what medium do you use? Soft, medium or extra firm? Dont know anything about this clay. If i were not using an extruder and wanted to make bails, which medium on this clay would you recommend?
@Caricoclay6 ай бұрын
Hi, I use soft cosclay. It mixes in easily to premo. It's very soft, kind of like sculpey lll soft, if you're familiar with that. However, it's very strong, unlike sculpey lll. I hope you try it. I have a lot of fun with bails and have quite a few designs, but I've only shown 2 on youtube. Thanks for the question. 💗

Sure would LOVE to see your bail ideas. I am a BAIL person and would love to create different bails. So tired of the typical ones we see over and over again. THANKS for your work!
@Caricoclay6 ай бұрын
@keelygreen6455 I will add more bail videos. They're just not as popular as the "clay techniques", videos. They're slower paced and it seems a lot of people wanted shorter content. I'm OK with some shorter videos but I don't think I can convey the nuances in some short takes. But there will be more. Thanks so much for all your support. It's made my day! 😊

WOW! Your work is amazing! Can't wait for the next video! Oh yes please, make a video of that pendant back. Where would I be able to purchase the mirror mica online (must ship international)? I'm from South-Africa and have never seen it before, but it shines, so I'm in 😍
