Hey there Peter - did you have a 16mm print of this? As you know, we used bits of it in THE COCKETTES but as far as I knew there was only one print,. and I think Seb had that. Did he make this?

Steve Martin is such a surprise. And to think his fellow high school classmates at GGHS used to make fun of him for his comedy. When he became a hit in the 70s, some of these old classmates used to deride him and said (complete with eye rolls) that he used to do the same stuff back in high school. Well, look at what Steve Martin has accomplished… and may I ask what have *they* accomplished? Yep. Thought so.

I was just reading an article about this, and apparently a friend of Charles Dawes took the sheet music to a publisher, unbeknownst to Dawes, so he was surprised when he heard his composition being played.

Gregory Hines!!! RIP! Such an amazing Man he was and actor! I remember when I was a kid and my Pops introduced me to Gregory Hines and the most memorable one I remember him was my favorite western comedy movie The Cherokee Kid. Bro was Memorizing to watch on screen, that face and the Roles he played He was such a Legend! Steve Martin still going strong along with Martin Short and Chevy Chase, all the Greats of Comedy! I wish we still had Gregory Hines and even Richard Prior! We lost them too soon I feel and they would appreciate the Modern Comedy styles from the comedians of today!

Winnie is a delight. A little stagey for modern audiences ... but from the perspective of 1929, she's sensational. Fun song, and she's cute, cute, cute! I guess they couldn't round up enough female tap dancers -- ? Thanks for posting.

Written and recorded lon before I was born (1943) but loved the melody and the words (Of which I could only recall ) "Was that the human thing to do? Which I sang out when Mom played the record. Thanks for sharing this with us. This Dana's version and my Mom's Boswell's recording are definitely tucked away in my heart.

Just watched The Avalon Boys perform "At The Ball, That's All" for a dance with Laurel and Hardy in the movie Way Out West where the show took an interlude just like what happened here. They were dressed as yodeling hillbillies in that picture made a year later in 1937.
