I can't help but think of Bugs Bunny when I hear this song.........since that's where I first heard it!

As good as BB's version is, I prefer the rendition performed by his WB colleague, Tweety: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJnKfIaBlrZmmbc

Joyous silliness. Wonderful cheer-up music and film! Love the tap dancers wearing drag!

Winnie is a delight. A little stagey for modern audiences ... but from the perspective of 1929, she's sensational. Fun song, and she's cute, cute, cute! I guess they couldn't round up enough female tap dancers -- ? Thanks for posting.

A section was cut, starting at 3:09, when for a brief flash you can see other people - children? - start to climb out of the tubs. Whatever happened next is missing, and then there's a cut to Winnie laughing, and then the finale. This entire thing is so odd that I wonder what audiences in 1929 thought of it.

That's an interesting observation! My guess would be that that scene could be where they changed out the reels of film, and given the short pause audiences would have had, they might not have noticed it.

@@charles_xcx Doesn't look like a reel break to me. I think @hebneh is correct, something was cut. Now my curiosity is up and I very much hope to see the the entire number some day.

My first read is that cut may have been the intended end of that shot, Winnie’s facial emote is a kind of fill or transition from it to make the jump flow more seamlessly. Like a drum fill in music.

She is very animated. Musically, I like the intro even more than the main theme however the whole thing is very catchy. I woke up one day humming this to myself for some reason and had to look up the tune.

He's "Bull" Montana, (1887-1950) a wrestler turned actor. He certainly was no singer, but his lack of singing talent is rather fun in this scene.
