i had 2 crabs in the early 2000s, they werent hermit crabs lol, i believe they were moon crabs. sadly much of the pets in the 1990s and early 2000s didnt get much love. i had them in a tiny bug catcher the pet store sold me. i had them for a few months before they passed. for years i wanted to get more but wanted to have the right set up for them!

I am wondering about the way these guys move around. I'm in Central Florida and seen 2 that I was sure are geckos, but when they walk, it seems like every segment of the body wriggled

I just got my turtle today and it is a hatchling and Everytime I hold it with my thumb on the left of it in my index finger on the Right of it it uses its little arms and legs to push itself out of my hands, and it scares me😂

I've been finding either worms or these things around the house. Not sure which.

You can hold them up to the light and see the scales on the head and the tongue

Hello. Great video. I just picked one of these uo today. I used hermit crab sand (which he/she loves) and layer of the coconut fiber stuff on top. In watching various videos, I have yet to see anyone use sand 🤔 is there a reason I'm not seeing people use sand?

i know you said no to get them in bad condition but i stumbled across several baby yellow bellied sliders at a flea market being poorly cared for: only a quarter to half inch of water an no place to get out and dry off. i felt conflicted to get one to give it a better life cause i have cared for 4 aquatic turtles in the past to adulthood and am experienced enough to know the dos and donts. i dont think/know if he has any health issues yet but he seems okay and hopefully i can give him a better life than his brothers and sisters (i wanted to save them all) edit: they were all only slightly bigger than a quarter

@ProducedbyPDot5 ай бұрын
saddly means your crab is Blind , the eyes either got picked out as a baby , or couldve maybe been overexposed to heat and the eyes sunk in (dryedout)

My mom let one go in the river so I don't agree with her she just does whatever she wants. Let a snake out too but it was just a corn snake. She would have let a boa out if I had one. She's a environmental dumpster fire writing about it every day...

Mine pinched me and i dropped him. He landed on his face. The weakest spot. He didnt make it. I felt so bad i cried a little. That was 15 yrs ago. I failed a creature whose life was my responsibility, and i couldn't handle it. It was important moment bc i realized the scope of the kind of animals im comfortable with. Im reminded of this when i look to adopt a dog and theres all pit bulls.
@mr.froggy28994 ай бұрын
Dude I don’t wanna make you feel bad but with all pets you have to be aware about things that may harm you, if you know you fright easily and would drop it just don’t pick it up.

Wonder if these guys would prey on our brown or our green anoles? Or crowd those species out of my neighborhood once they arrive here in SW Florida?

@AirsoftKeksTV Жыл бұрын
Those crabs won't pinch you if you don't pinch them. Just hold them onto your open hand, and use your other hand above it to make sure they don't jump away. Their body is quite soft so it hurts them if you hold them like you did.

Hi, I'm carrying for my brothers 8-10yr old red eared slider and have noticed that he is loosing his color. He is active and eats like normal. Any ideas what I should do?
@ProgressiveDiscussions2 жыл бұрын
That's limestone but it's good. They won't climb smooth surfaces. For those living in dryer conditions then they would have to burn a lot less holes to retain humidity since land crabs need the moisture to breathe.
