Still returning to this many years after I first heard it. Outstanding cover.

Since i'm half scottish.. do it with bagpipes.. may be a numptie idea at first look.. but.. it might actually work... team up with the dragoons.. Magic might happen!

I've always associated "Go West" with young men - their dreams and aspirations but in this hauntingly stirring and robust rendition, it adds new context and belongs to everyone at any age. Hope, passion and optimism knows no borders, no age.

I put this in 1.25x playback speed and now it's the perfect tempo, this is the exact sort of choir I would hope to sing this song. It needs these strong male vocals!

I swear down I saw one of the old boys reading the lyrics off a piece of paper....much like Bernard Sumner does these days except he uses a floor-mounted monitor.

I have to admit that was me. This was my first appearance back after illness so I had a little crib note. What an event to come back to though. Unforgettable.

Sorry mate in retrospect that was uncalled for and I hope you made a full and speedy recovery. My comment was more about the lyricist of this song who often seems to be reading his own lyrics off a monitor when playing live. Welsh male voice choirs are of course magnificent. One of my favourite collaborations involving a Welsh male voice choir is Lady Boston by The Good the Bad and the Queen. Fantastic song. All the best.

@@philipusher4282 absolutely no offence taken. I actually loved your comment . That was the first time ever I had notes, and who does the camera go on ……me. Now a floor mounted monitor ….where do I get one. 👍

I can imagine redeemed mankind from all four corners of the Earth marching to the Center of the Earth then to begin marching up the stairs spiraling (The Stairs begins at the Roots of the Great Tree and Spirals around like a Double Helix) around the Giant Tree of Life on Mt Meru as they march towards Paradise as they ascend to Polaris.

I always thought the outro on the original, with synthesised chorus (like ELO’s Mister Blue Sky, or the over-dubbed voices on Dear Prudence), created an air of operatic drama and impending doom- but this is the real deal! Wow!
