I am South African Indian. You have no clue how much i feel you. We are never Indian enough or African enough. There is 1.56 million of us here in South Africa. Our forefathers came here in 1860. I feel like Fijian Indians and those from the West indies are more similar to us than Indians from India. I feel a strong connection between us. I do however feel we've somehow fused ourselves into another type of Indian because we are heavily influenced in African, White and Coloured cultures which are the other race groups we have in South Africa. Tyla Seethal ( Tyla ) is great way to describe an Indian dad and African mother .She's busy taking the world by storm with her music. We have our own beliefs , food , entertainment , accent , ETC. People like Hashim Amla and Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj are South African Indian cricketers. If you want to get a sneak peak of South African Indians. I would advise you to watch the movie The Kandasamys. Is there any recommendations of movies with West Indian or Fiji Indians you could recommend to me?
