$39 on Black Friday sale right now (11.18.2024). I bought one at that price point. I also own the Switchblade pack which is incredible.

Cool! When will you be soliciting ideas for the new pack? I may have some ideas…
@SJA-ReviewsКүн бұрын
I've been jotting down ideas and playing with ideas for about a year now, so all ideas are welcome. As for actual development and production, it costs about $8-10k to design and build a pack, so it'll be quite a while before I can make that commitment
@jackchn23Күн бұрын
I kind of cobbled one together over the years a la cart. But this kit looks very complete. As far as some content I’d like to see on your channel, what kind of gift list are you considering for this upcoming holiday season? Thanks!
@SJA-ReviewsКүн бұрын
Not really a "gift list" but the top bags I'd like to try out are the Nomadic Research TTL 38, Eberlestock Fade collection, and the ULA Dragonfly

I know it’s been a while since you uploaded this but I just bought a size large because the medium one felt just a little tight. Hearing now that that the shoulder straps will stretch out I’m thinking maybe I should size down, my brand new one is already on the loose side. Any thoughts?
@SJA-ReviewsАй бұрын
I think you'll be ok with the large, but if you do end up getting the medium, please let us know if there's a significant difference!

Would this pack offer good stability and support for snowshoes lashed to the pack when not in use? Lack of adjustability in vest is a bit concerning. Currently, my REI flash 22 has been the perfect size, even in ADK winters. It lacks strong lash points and support for snowshoes. Stuffing it full provided enough support... but it's a bit of a hack. I've also been missing chest/belt straps for phones, snacks, etc. and a good deep back panel for rain/wind layers. The wider arm straps and panels on the belt do provided a more secure fit than... Previously used a Marmot KOMPRESSOR A bit too big (so floppy) for day hikes and wanted more secure fit. Vertical zipper back mesh pocket was no good for a rain jacket or tarp ... better for keys etc so this has become my "commuter" pack. and the extra size makes perfect carry on personal bag for flights.
@SJA-ReviewsАй бұрын
This bag has little to no structural support. I'd imagine having a difficult time finding a way to strap snowshoes to it, and if you did, they wouldn't be stable or secure

Just found your channel. Absolutely love your review style. It seems like you have an above average amount of medical training. Could you review an IFAK for an assault belt. I’ve been eyeballing the Flat Line Fiber P.I.M.P. Can you give your opinions on it or a better option that you know of. I’m specifically finding one to wear on my battle belt or possibly Molle onto my eberlestock switchblade
@SJA-ReviewsАй бұрын
I've had good luck with MyMedic products, but I've also seen several people using Blue Force Gear kits on their battle belts. Eberlestock used to have the IndiTAK, but now have two "medical" specific pouches in their line up. They may be good options to fill up with gear that you need for your specific needs, instead of buying a pre-made kit

Do you know if these med packs are still available and do they come with the strap/vlecro molle panel? I can’t find them anywhere
@SJA-ReviewsАй бұрын
Hmmm I'm not sure if it's been discontinued, but it does look like they have two smaller pouches now. But they did come with the velcro and molle from the factory

So glad I saw this. Im checking out the Bandit, which you reviewed also. Both great reviews. Once you said veteran owned , I was sold! A little tidbit... you mentioned usage of the duct tape with gauze wrap... as an EMT, once you've wrapped whatever you're wrapping, take your shears.. cut down the middle of the "dangling " part a few inches... take one half and wrap around to meet the other half and tie it off. 👍

Biggest design fault I can see is that the shoulder straps are sewn into the lid. All the stress off carrying will go into the zip. I'm probably wrong but I can't see it holding up for long.

Instead of bringing another strap for shoulder carry when travelling, just cross and clip one backpack strap diagonally then loosen the length.
@SJA-Reviews3 ай бұрын
I tried that, but the strap was too short to carry in a cross-body style

The Mini MLC makes very little sense to me. It is just not as good to carry as a backpack as many many many other 30l backpacks on the market and then it is not as useful for air travel as its bigger brother. If you need a bag for carry on just get the bigger one.

Am I under thinking it or would it make sense to buy the non- HD version and just pack some sort of bag poncho to save some $? Especially since the zippers aren't waterproof on the HD

It’s difficulty to say what “cause” it, whether that was extended use or too heavy of a load. I probably had up to 25lbs in it at the max, but not for very long. But I used it every day for several months, so both probably contributed. Sorry I can’t provide a more exact answer

Lower price doesn't hurt but it's simply too light on features. You can get similarly under-specced packs elsewhere for considerably less. Meh.
