Not completely new films, but partly a compilation of some videos from your early days on KZbin 😊 Other channels (not just railways) sometimes do that too - so you don't have to be embarrassed at all: you always have a very good eye for the subject and when you report that the white train with the green stripes is no longer running today, it's a wonderful reminder of days gone by... and the beautiful harbor pictures with the moon reflected in the water at the end: perfect 👍

Difficult uphill journey and you really wonder whether the C58 can climb the slope with its carriages... On the last carriage at the back, smoke rises from a kind of exhaust pipe... do you know where it comes from or what it means? By the way, a surprise discovery in the attic of my parents' house: my father was also a train fan and was interested in more than just German railways! There under the roof I found two assembled steam locomotive models in 1:43 scale, gauge 0 I think... They are a Japanese tender locomotive series C55 and a Japanese tender locomotive series E105!!! Could have been kits made by Tamiya in the past, I don't know for sure!? They were protected from dust under a plastic display case that I think was included with the kit at the time... Unfortunately, they are only static models and not electrically functional.

Thank you for watching the video. The exhaust pipe at the rear of the passenger car. The exhaust coming out of it is the diesel generator. In modern passenger cars in Japan, one out of every five cars is equipped with a generator under the floor, which generates electricity for air conditioning and lighting. You hear a "whoosh" sound when the train is passing, right? That's the sound of the generator. It's pretty loud, and we can hear it inside the car, but many Japanese people don't mind it. I don't like it, so I ride in a car that doesn't have a generator. It's true that it can generate more power than a generator that rotates the wheels, so the air conditioner works too. The Japanese model on the ceiling. Is it made of plastic? If it's plastic, it's probably 1/50 scale, and it's probably a display model made by a manufacturer called "Otaki". If it's a locomotive with a spoked wheel tender, it might be a C55. It was active on Japanese main lines around 1930. The E10 is a tank-type locomotive, so it doesn't have a tender. The E10 is specially designed for hill trains, and was built by a Japanese person, based on locomotives imported to Japan by Lokomotiv-und Maschinenfabrik J.A.Maffei. Later, the hill train tank locomotives were replaced by modern tender locomotives such as the D51, but they were unpopular. This was because the length of the tender spoiled the length of the sidings at small stations in the mountains.

@@14ikesan12 I replied to another comment early this morning, but then had to go to the early shift and now have a short break to thank you for your detailed answer! Smoke at the end of the train: I had suspected something similar, but wasn't sure if it was true. In German steam trains, steam often came out of the end of the train during the heating season if the pipes were leaky! But it was white and not dark like in this Japanese carriage 😊 Japanese model locomotives: yes, they are plastic models, but everything is very detailed! It could very well be that it is this manufacturer as you mentioned and this scale, the original packaging was disposed of after assembly and there is no manufacturer on the models. In any case, there was also a plastic track with a ballast bed and this plastic display case: protected like this, the models still look as new after more than 40 years as they did immediately after assembly 🤗 Best wishes 🖖

@@wandajackson3410 Thank you for your polite reply. Please reply at a time that is convenient for you. That's the advantage of social media. The smoke coming out of the passenger cars in the video is black, right? It's smoke from burning oil. It's not very appealing, is it? Several manufacturers have made plastic models of Japanese railway vehicles in 1/50, but they didn't last very long. In the end, the reason for this is probably that the manufacturers did not have planners who had a strong passion for railways. Personally, I would like Tamiya to make display models of railways in 1/43 or 1/87, but Tamiya shows no interest in railways. They seem to prefer 88mm Flak.

Thank You for your great work. "Hon-" What means ?
@14ikesan12
@14ikesan12 Күн бұрын
In Japanese, the "kanji" have multiple meanings for one word, and even our Japanese people need 10 to 15 years after birth to understand the rules. There are many exceptions, and in those cases, we have no choice but to memorize them as exceptions. The word "本(hon)" in place names generally means a "real" . "Hontou(本当)" means "real," so "hon" in place names means "original," "central," or "old." So what is "Nakano(中野)"? Naka = "中" = "central" No = "野" = "field." If we were to directly translate "hon-nakano(本中野)," it would be Old, Central, Field It's a place with that kind of atmosphere even now. Not by the sea, but in the mountains, in the middle of a field. We Japanese also imagine that it is a place like that from the place name. Words that are opposed to "hon" in place names are "shin(新)", "higashi" (東), and "nishi" (西), with "shin(新)" meaning "new", "higashi" (東), and "nishi" (西). Of course "kita" (北=north) and "minami" (南=south) are also used. There is no "higashi-nakano" next to "hon-nakano" which will be mentioned this time, but there are "higashi-koizumi" and "nishi-koizumi" next to a station called "koizumi-cho" (= Koizumi Town). In Tokyo there is a place and station called "Nakano", and nearby there are stations called "Shin-Nakano" and "HIigashi-Nakano". Of course, I'm sure there are similar examples of place names in foreign countries too. For example, there are place names like "Old George Town."

Parts 1 and 2: It's extremely interesting to see how rail traffic works in a metropolitan area around Tokyo: lots of trains either coming towards you on the same line or coming into the picture on other lines to the left and right... The density of trains on the Shinkansen line is enormous: trains can be seen here about every 2 or 3 minutes, although the level of the two parallel lines is not always the same: sometimes the Shinkansen line runs higher or lower than the local line running alongside it... Lots of travelers on the platforms and if I, as a country resident, imagine that I was a guest in your country and had to change trains several times in the confusion of the different lines, for example: I WOULD BE LOST, I WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY LOST!!! 😅😅😅

What surprised me about my trip to Germany was that the system for guiding passengers was also very systematic. Just by looking at the information board on the platform, I could understand from which position I should board the train, and even at local stations, if I just said "How can I get to...", the answer would be printed out. Thanks to this system, I was able to escape from the "walled city of Rothenburg". For lunch, of course, I had a fish mac, which is easy to order in English. Japanese trains are not designed in such a systematic way. I think you need a generous heart or the guts to enjoy being forced to make strange mistakes. After all, Japan is an island country far from other countries. Fish mac is available.

Ooh, a very interesting little route!!! The model replica of the original electric locomotive reminds me a lot of the German E 69 series which ran between Murnau and Oberammergau in the state of Bavaria 🤗 I have taken the liberty of linking three KZbin videos below: in the KZbin settings for the videos, go to the "Subtitles" section -> "Automatically translate" -> and select "English"! I hope what you read there is somewhat understandable for you, unfortunately not always perfect: in one case the city of "Hamburg" is mentioned: but this is not the big city in northern Germany but the place "Harburg" with an "r" instead of the "m"! Hope it is interesting for you and your viewers to know or maybe you already know it ☺️ Best wishes 🖖 E 69 Murnau-Oberammergau 1.) kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqqqY2OsgZaUnM0si=vF31F8OJHMNPIH7p 2.) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIG9eqaDi8SKd9ksi=Dcpf0hLEizhPXuoH 3.) kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJC7e6BvetiXnZosi=JzGusveRuWZ4eccm

I appreciate you watching this slightly old video and writing your comment. As you point out, I'm not sure if I can fully interpret it. It may be difficult. But this is a matter of technique, and it comes down to practice. It's important to get the opportunity. I thank you for that too. The model locomotive in the video is made by Allgemeine. It was used on the Choshi Electric Railway until 1984 (not a model, but the real loco). Apparently it would stumble when pulling 3-4 freight cars.

I watched your video. Thank you. Many models of this type of locomotive are available in Japan. Made by Marklin and Loco. I wonder if there is a Fleischmann? I have one too. However, I haven't given her electricity for a while, so she might be a little upset. It's true that I can't understand the German announcements at all. I can understand about half of them in English. But even without the explanation, I can get a good feel for the atmosphere of European stations. It reminds me of my own travels in the past. It's fun.

😂 it’s very nice that there is a japanese song that reminds people where this first little electrolocomotive was built! At another comment you wrote something about „Allgemeine“… I guess the manufacturer of this first locomotive… That could only be the former, great Electrical company "AEG": these three letters are the first of the three german words "Allgemeine Elektricitäts Gesellschaft" - English translation -> „General Electricity Company“ This was a large company that not only manufactured locomotives but everything to do with electricity. Unfortunately, this company no longer exists: dissolved in 1996, locomotives were still built under a different name and management until 1998! Unfortunately, I don't know if there are complete lists of the locomotives built at that time anywhere on the internet, but in principle the Japanese locomotives on the route you have presented are certainly similar to those on the Murnau - Oberammergau local railway in Germany! Although these were not manufactured by AEG, the external design was initially very similar for almost all locomotive companies: angular front ends with usually only two driven axles...

It has happened to me more than a few times after I have seen one of your videos. So I end up missing a video or two of yours. You are far from the only one that You Tube treats me like that. Apparently, they have an opinion about what an 80+ year old railroad fan should be watching. So that explains why I am so excited to be watching part 2 after having watched part 1 a few days ago. But the railway company won't allow that. It's also not allowed for TV stations or newspaper cameras. So if I try to take a wide shot from behind the cab, the pillars will be in the picture. @@RustamShah Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I want everyone who watches my videos (including myself) to be satisfied. If 100% is not possible, then 90%. If 90% is not possible, then 80%. I try to make the process enjoyable for myself. Please continue to give me your feedback. Without it, I won't make any progress.

Thank you for Parts 1 an 2 of this train route/ride. I always enjoy your videos and look forward to watching them as soon as you publish them here on YT. I am always surprised that train operators allow video taping of the route..!!

Thank you very much. Cab view filming is a sensitive topic even in Japan. Many railway companies do not allow filming by TV stations, newspapers, or for commercial purposes. The reason is announced as a measure against terrorism. However, I feel that this is just an excuse, and the real reason is that it is simply considered troublesome to deal with. A president of a railway company told me that if there is even one piece of garbage on KZbin, the railway company will receive a complaint. Is it okay or not? Anyway. The situation is becoming like that. However, filming is still allowed about 10 to 20 years ago, when cab views became a boom and many products were released. The medium is VHS. It is still widely distributed on the market. If that is the case, why were those products allowed and are not allowed now? Now many fans and even mothers with small children stand behind the driver's seat and look ahead. Sometimes people take pictures with their smartphones (I am one of them (^^;) And, although this was really careless, a railway company itself posted the cab view on KZbin. Of course, this has a huge effect, but it makes the reason for regulation disappear. Regulations will likely continue to be strengthened. However, cab views are a great asset for passengers. What if a cab view from 50 years ago was discovered? I would be happy to see it. It would also have great historical value. But that was not possible with the old video equipment. If that is the case, I believe we should do what we can now. Sorry, this is a long post.
