I’m in an exchange on FB in a quilt group. We’re making string quilt blocks to exchange. Should be fun. Thank you for the great tutorial.

I have never seen the string quilt concept before. Love the idea and can’t wait to try it. Question - if you pre wash the muslin, should your strips you sew on it be pre-washed as well? Thanks! Note: I had no problems hearing the video.
@susannetyree721727 күн бұрын
My mother-in-law made string quilts and taught me to make the blocks on old catalog pages. It is a very old quilt design. I’m thinking it is from the Depression era. Yes, a great way to use up scrap strips. Lots of fun too!

The finished panel dimensions are 6.5 in by 18.5 inch (same for the lining but add 9in for the one with the pocket) & it's 2.5 in squares (also called charm squares) the handles I'm unsure how long they are, I have the instructions

The instructions leave ALOT to be desired. That is why I searched for video instructions. VERY hard to construct, especially the lining. For there are NO marks, no dots, no diagonal lines to show you how to construct the lining, and of course, this video did not explain the lining at all, just said to follow the instructions, which are pretty much crap. I don't think I'm alone based on comments from other sewers.
