I had the exact same back then..such a rocket, my saddle was also purple..nostalgia!!

Why NOT keep it for the museum? It is cooler and rarer than lots of other bikes and sentimental for some people. Electric start… same years as first Harley electric on Electra glide!

I owned a 1984 Yamaha Maxim-X which was basically a Virago which had a FZR 750 5 valve Genesis motor bolted into it at the factory. Was a real sleeper and would do a 11 second 1/4 mile stock. I made a few bucks racing guys with 1200 BMW's - it wasn't even close - left them in the dirt :)

Looking at getting my first bike and found one that is in great shape. It’s a 1984 650cc, clean title and 16k miles for $1k. Standard bikes are starting to grow on me. Really debating on picking this one up!

I freaking love the Suzuki RM's, as well as this RMX. My favorite Suzuki RM's were from the 80's and 90's. Christie did a phenominal job on the graphics, as Always. My first 2 stroke mx dirtbike was a 1983 Suzuki RM 125 that was mint condition. I loved this bike. Bought it in 1991 for $800, from the original owner, very well cared for and documented. Suzuki makes great street and dirt bikes. Awesome Video! ML&R.

RZ rust spot on gastank. When you have water inside gastank, and bike leans on kickstand. Water collects against inside of tank, and rusts inside out. Dangers of water in gas supply.

Ha,ha what a riot. Doesn't wanna sell it but if he has too it's 6k. Goes on to say he may need to sell it depending on what kinda deal they can strike for the other bikes because he basically needs to clean out the garage. Kaplan interprets all that as ok so we'll make you an offer. Me the potential customer already knows the bike is overpriced at 6k and I sure as hell know Kaplan will sell this bike for no less than 9k once he's done with it and it will even more overpriced. Jeesh those poor smucks who sit on stuff for too long and then oh sheet time to let it go lets call Kappy....

New tires Commando 2 Michelins. Low shock pressure and she handles great, no swing-arm flex and again no rotten rubber a true find.
@jamesdewer10 күн бұрын
Man, this bike arrived and started first crack. All the rubber on this bike was supple and from performing my due diligence before opening her up every bit of rubber is still soft. I installed better bulbs in the dash and that's it. Once I knocked off the residue from sitting around for months, she up and pulls with a vengeance. Thanks to a short riding season back east, you can count on the east coast to be a trove of these well loved machines. In California we ride year round and bike are abused. I wouldn't buy a bike from California unless it was very, very low miles.
