If its a '99 then it should be a "955" not a "595". Triumph renamed from that year. I (still) have '99 build date May 1999 "955" (Tornado Red). Fabulous bikes :-)

@@traicys-dairy and the latter designation on the side fairings..."955.." Frame number and engine number will confirm also if the engine has the minor changes such as resolving 4th gear issues. But def looks like the updated '99 year :-).

A quick question Traicys-dairy please: I also own a 2020 model like yours, and what sat nav/phone is that on the handlebars? I am currently researching options but the one you have fitted looks quite robust. Thanks.

It’s the Tomtom rider 550. Superb bit of kit! I use it with my Cardo Packtalk Bold. It seamlessly switches between radio-music and sat nav instructions. I now have a BMW R1200GSA with the Garmin Nav6. The Tomtom is by far the best and so much more intuitive. 👌

Plenty of double sided pads. It also comes with plastic push rivets. If you look closely at the end of the Vid, I did use these rivets but it does require drilling. In hindsight, I wouldn’t have drilled it but just used the sticky pads as these are substantial enough. 👍

Update - Just spent 10mins trying to get the stock NC700X throttle grip off with the common air compressor method and no luck. I ended up cutting it off. Well in many situations including the clutch side grip the air compressor works great to remove grips. Also there is a easier way to remove grips if you own a air compressor simply shoot a burst of air under the grip while pulling them off. Works great to install grips as well with no moisture needed.
@45eno2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it didn't work well on that throttle grip. Out came the razor.
@traicys-dairy2 жыл бұрын
Your not going to use the old grips again, so doesn’t really matter if you have to cut them off. They are certainly put on to stay on it the factory. Best upgrade to any bike has to be heated grips. Why they don’t come as standard in the UK ! 🥴
@45eno2 жыл бұрын
I just bought a NC700X after 4yrs of not riding(mainly due to safety concerns). Stupid leaders making poor decisions is leading to very high gas prices so I am gearing up for possible even higher prices. I know it will take a long while to make back the savings on gas but who knows how bad it can get and if we end up like what happened in the 70's with rationed gas. Just ordered the Oxfords Touring grips as they seem to be the closest in length and might not have to cut them down.

@traicys-dairy2 жыл бұрын
Probably because it’s not pumping out 200bhp the youngsters maybe think it’s not a contender. It is (in my opinion) a little dull because of the linear power delivery but that’s exactly what I loved about it!

@traicys-dairy2 жыл бұрын
I do tend to ride very conservatively. Try changing gear earlier, anticipating corners and rolling off the throttle and ride in a higher gear. Not telling you how to ride of cause but it’s all the little things put together will pay dividends. Other NC owners I’ve spoken to are getting the same/similar mpg as myself. Having said that, 63mpg is really good for a 750cc bike!
