I’ve seen Honoring your Ancestors everywhere but I haven’t heard much good or bad about it. Another ancestor book on my radar is Badass Ancestors. I’m a baby witch looking into my Celtic roots.

I can’t remember if you read Year of the Witch. I’m currently reading through it. It’s supposed to help with customizing your Wheel of the Year. Or at least that’s how it’s been sold to me. Finding a local witchy community are goals! It’s so hard to find people that you can connect with spiritually and ethically. One cleansing method I really like is lavender stems dipped in moon water. Shaking them in the corners of my rooms and any thresholds!

I was doing so well with my witchy stuff until Ostara but I’ve kinda fell off especially with the books, so I’m definitely hoping to get back with it for Beltane because that one is my favorite other than mabon!

Roller skating is on the goal list for me too. I'm so excited for the weather to be good enough that i can skate outside, even though I'm lucky enough to have a large basement to practice in during the winter.

DoorDash and Grubhub is dangerous 😂 I’m the same way. For me I schedule grocery delivery and preplan my meals and make “saved orders” that I can one-click buy and rotate them around to cook so I don’t get sick of the same food. It’s made such a big difference for me.

Jeez girl our witchy goals are almost the same. I picked up Writual Planner for Tarot that does a one card pulls and helps bring awareness to the phases of the moon with a six card pulls during the full and new moons. It has really helped me develop a habit that I now miss when I forget. I now have a better understanding of the tarot archetype too. I recommend it. I built my BOS and now I'm building my Grimore for spells. It was also my goal to practice what I've studied for so long. The fear of harm none is real but the adrenaline and feeling of accomplishment when you realize if your intention of no harm is true that also goes out into the world as part of the energy of the spell. I'm super proud of you cause I'm feeling it too!

You have such a good list!! I have sooo many witchy books I need to read. Yet I see at least four from your list that I need to add. I can tell you did your research on your book searches. It will be fun to hear your reviews on them.

I just read this book this late last year. I agree with what you say. I after researching my heritage and how each pantheon feels to me, Celtic felt the best for similar reasons. Two other books I'd recommend is Celtic Myth and Magick by Edain McCoy. It is older but has more in depth research of goddesses and god's. It has a great astral projection and deity connection ritual section I think you would really like. I picked up Celtic Tree Ogham by Sharlyn Hidalgo I haven't read it yet but I'm finishing Danu Forest's Celtic Tree Magic first.

Also I would recommend Celtic Myth and Magick by Edain McCoy, it’s very informative and I love the way that the deities and heroes have specifications on whether they’re Irish, Scottish, welsh or English, and just allllll the info in the book in general. It’s def more laid out like a textbook than anything else though

🪷Hello Sam, just subscribed to this channel of yours 😄 🪷Blood & Mistletoe - The History of Druids in Britain is a comprehensive book about Druids. 🪷I'm not sure whether you've tried Stephanie Woodfields book - "Celtic Lore & Spellcraft of the Dark Goddess"- a good place to start when working with the Morrighan. 🪷In India , the Goddess Morrighan is almost similar to "Bhadraa Kali" - The Dark Goddess of the Battle field. The trophies of both Goddesses are the decapitated heads of their enemies.Spiritually , it provides the mystic prowress to overcome daily challenges in the everyday battlefield of life. The decapitated head is symbolic to eternal soul knowledge through victory over vices & shortcomings. The mysticisim is similar to both Goddesses. 🪷With Irish Witchcraft- don't forget that there is a major section on demonology which needs to be mastered if you are to work with the fae spirits which forms a concrete part of authentic Irish Spiritual practices. 🪷Love all the books you shared here, am reading them later during the year.😄

Not me super looking forward to your thoughts on the three books I've read lol. My top tbr witch/pagan books are Elves, Witch, & Tolls by Kveldulf Gunarsson, The Tradition of Household Spirits: Ancestoral Lore and Practi es by Claude Lecouteux, and The Scent of Rosemary and Lemon: Working Domestic Mahick with Hestia by Raechel Henderson. Also close to the top are Badass Ancestors: Finding Your Power with Anscestor Guides by Patti Wigington and City Witchery by Lisa Marie Basile. My work continues to be a blend of the Greek Hellenismos I've been in for years and exploring Norse Paganism for my anscestor connections. 😌

I love Fez Inkwright's art, so I really wanna get Botanical Curses and Poisons at some point. The Seed and Sickle is one of my favorite oracle decks I own. I also want to read 78 Degrees of Wisdom and get more fully into tarot this year and do like in depth deck studies for specific tarot and oracle decks throughout the year. This seems like a great TBR for the year, I'm excited to see how it all goes for you!

I've been very happy at the Irish Pagan School. I'm a bioarchaeologist and appreciate both their grounding in the academic lore and that they are indigenous practitioners. They are ant-racist and also welcoming to the diaspora.

I'd love to get into witchy stuff, as I'm Irish and my granny would read tea leaves and do lots of herbal remedies and the like. She never identified as a witch but living in the west of Ireland, you're kind of surrounded by a lot of pagan and spiritual vibes (like fairy trees and such).

I'm sooo glad you mentioned that the Salem "witches" might not have been witches. One of my ancestors and her mother were tried and hanged as witches. There's records that people thought she was a witch because she spoke her mind. I went to Salem one summer and was very sad to find that some shops and organizations really play up the "witches" for their profit when really we don't know if these women and men actually practiced witchcraft.

Cannot recommend having a weekly thing enough. I'm so bad a everything else but I do light a tealight with intention for the next week and that keeps me in the witchy mindset even when I'm not doing other things as much as I'd like. For me it's mostly a self-love/confidence intention so I do that on Fridays (Venus day). I'm so looking forward to your witchy tbr, I'd love some recommendations <3

I also fell out of my practice a lot last year because I had a tough year with chronic illness. That's still going on, but I really miss my witchy practice, so I wanna try to do more when I do have the energy. I have some books on Italian folk magic to read and I'd like to slowly make my way through Psychic Witch throughout the year. I also want to get back into my tarot practice and start pairing my tarot and oracle decks in readings and seeing which decks work well together.

I too am working at trying to get to bed at a decent time especially on Sunday nights. Usually I have no problem falling asleep, but I try to ignore my body because I'm reading and at 10:30 my body is ready while I try to fight it. Body wins and then has the audacity to wake me up anywhere between 1-2am to turn off the lights knowing on most weekdays I have to be up at 4:15am or 5:25am. I have no problem going back to sleep just hate that it's interrupted like that. Exercise is key for me this year because I need to lose weight due to being a type 2 diabetic. Right now 185lbs is not ideal, so I need to move because I am pretty sedentary (hope I spelled that right) and I just want to be healthy for my kids which also means better nutrition, too. I have made many changes for myself, but I still have my cheat days, so far I am doing good food wise, it's that exercise that needs to come into play. Since it's cold here in Northeast Ohio I am going to fix up my mom's exercise bike and use it and then when the weather gets nicer go for walks. I may need that app blocker because sometimes I get invested in news or other stories which keeps me from reading a book. I hope you and everyone on here can achieve their goals or make progress on them.

There's also the Lincoln gardens in Springfield, IL and if you go at the right time of year, February March I think not positive, they do maple syruping too and have these delicious maple syrup suckers 💜
