I'm first trumpet in this rn for 12th grade wind ensemble. It may be absolute hell but it is fun!

Played this piece in my school band, 1st trumpet was just crazy. One of the greatest pieces I ever were part of. Also the best drums solo ever, just a insane transition.

I think this was the last piece I played in high school band. The underclassmen in the top couple bands performed at commencement, and then we graduates joined them to play what I think was this piece (it's been 16 years so I'm not 100% certain).

This song was soo fun to play on Base Trombone back in Highschool.....I still have the sheet music

My wind ensemble did a combined effort with a college wind ensemble and our symphonic winds. Together it was about 120 playing this godly piece. (I played bass clarinet) But yeah this is such an amazing piece and I still have the sheet music for it.

When I first played this piece, I wanted to play with audio recordings. I looked it up and it was played in B. I was shook, but it still sounds incredible in B. (Bb was good too)

This is such an emotional piece, especially for my band, This was my last year and this was the last song at the concert that we played and for years it had been our opener for marching shows, specifically the very ending. I bawled, I and many other people whose it was their last time, music is a really extraordinary thing.

I despise 5/8 except in this song tbh, I love the 3:4 poly's tho
@TyTheRegularMan6 жыл бұрын
3:4 is so common in western popular music. That certainly doesn't discount it, but I get bored of it. 5/8 feels more exotic to me.

As a member of the color guard, I am required to be enrolled in band. Marching season is over so our band Director moved me from guard to percussion. (We are a band of about 25 people and we didn’t have enough percussion members).I have never been in band before... and she hands us this piece to sight read 😂 it’s a great piece, but incredibly intimidating for a newbie.

Y'all do realize most of Hazo's pieces sound scarily similar (i.e. Rush and Ride) right? He definitely has a specific style

Rush and Ride are supposed to be performed together since they are based off of each other but they rarely are played together.

My marching band played this as our closer in 2014. Our school as bagpipes and hearing them playing this towards the end still gives me chills. Obviously the pipe instructor wrote a part for them cause it's not in the original version.
