I remember the night Charlie made his first appearance on tv and thought he had the smoothest voice. I was proud to be a young American where a black man was finally just like any other white performer. a special night.

To my own memory, Charlie Pride was the FIRST Black country singer, He OUTCLASSED them all. A super human being, a super class guy. When records are made of 1980----2010 ChArlie Pride will be in the annals of greatness
