Well done. I was actually able to play this(not as well as you) when it came out back in 1970. Now I can't remember much of it but I want to give it a try again and see if I can rekindle the passion I had for the music back then.

That’s a damn good rock, hard rock. I wish the guitar break had been longer or put in there twice because it was fabulous and really interesting.

On the last two notes of section 10, Terry gets a very ominous wah (cry) that is hard to emulate, but essential to the solo. Love your work otherwise.

Thanks so much. As a lifelong Hendrix fan, and guitar player, I've never gotten around to tackling this one. This is a huge time saver. Thanks for a great lesson brother. It's still just as relevant today as it was 7+ yrs ago when you posted it. I have too many Strats, but my '99 Strat Deluxe now has these Fralin "Woodstock '69" pickups that I've had since the early 90s (they come with the polepieces setup as though the guitar's upside-down). I keep it tuned down a half-step. 😎 But seriously, I do know that any Strat will suffice. I'll give it a go with my JTM45 RI w/4x12 rig. If you'll pardon me, I love talking about gear. Are you still rockin' the Germino w/ same 4x12? The rig sounds phenomenal! Is that white 4x12 the one that came with the Randy Rhoads JCM 800?
@emersonswinford8949Ай бұрын
it’s actually a Germino cab, but he shipped it with no logo, so I put the Marshall logo on it for the hell of it.

I take it the fuzz face is key to getting the feedback?
@emersonswinford8949Ай бұрын
yes. makes it easier and the Fuzz Face really has a unique character to feedback

Thank for the lesson and the tab. Chicago is my favorite group and this is a song I have always wanted to learn but couldn't find both a lesson and a matching tab. I am not sure I will be able to get up to speed but I want to give a go and see how good I can get.

Sh!t, man. I dont play guitar. I know nothing about music theory and i found this lesson very entertaining. Great work, Em. Like i said -- I know nothing about music BUT f'sure I know what sounds good and you NAILED it, Bro. So nice to see that the youngsters are studying J1M1. Like he said, "Someone will buy and sell for me. Someone will tell my tale." As he continues to burn that same old lamp. Alone. Loneliness is such a drrraaaaaag. 🎶🎵
