As far as I remember the main "use" of purity seals isn't exactly religious. Space marines are more like monks rather than the priests. Their origins coming from a rather anti-theistic dogma hat heavily contrasts the ecclesiarchy. Also, careful with the whole "Glory to the Ukraine" bit. It originates from 'УПА' - a partizan rebel army that fought alongside the nazi Germany.

Hearing all this makes me really sad that Trump is going to try to coerce Ukraine into lopsided, Russian-favored, "negotiations". If Ukraine doesn't go along with his bullshit plan, I expect he will use that as his excuse to cut all aid, and his MAGA allies in Congress will just rubber stamp it. And even if they didn't, he has a history of simply not delivering the aid without some kind of personal benefit. He was impeached the first time exactly for that reason.
