Little Tinker has been a favorite of mine mainly because of the song.

Fun fact: These are the versions that Walt Disney Animation Studios has uploaded to KZbin years ago, since both versions of Steamboat Willie have the same censorship. PD: Plane Crazy was deleted from the channel.

I remember seeing this cartoon for the first time in it's redrawn form on a public domain VHS (I believe it also had woody woodpecker). Though it was missing the Looney Tunes theme song and the ending

Hi! I'm a public domain researcher with Duke Law's Center for the Study of the Public Domain and the Internet Archive. I am really happy to see this project being taken on and it looks great! Thanks to no copyright restrictions you can freely restore these as desired. I'm curious if you might be able to share the recordings you plan to use as well. I love listening to old 78s, and would love to peruse what you have found. Best, Sean

the shaking black bar on the bottom of the MGM logo covering "In Technicolor" isn't exclusive to this print. There are some Public Domain tapes out there with the same censoring

This is way better than the Merrie Melodies with the same title. Both are good, but this is way better and goes way weirder at the end.

The song is so 1920's, and this is a good example of how the style of popular music was changing in the time before jazz and swing began to dominate. In that era, the cartoons were required to use songs from the Warner Music catalog to help promote them.

The first of few Tex Avery cartoon originally made by MGM entered the public domain and the 3rd MGM cartoon to do so. The other one is Doggone Tired in 1949.
