Wouldn’t say that. Lower mezzos often tend to sound similar.

@@KajiVocals I thought a Contralto would go lower. Beyonce is a Mezzo and covers this range. I thought Contraltos sounded like men? She doesn't.

Hearing that most of this was after her 50s was quite interesting. I am glad we have the material we do considering she started singing pre-twentith century! She's an amazing singer with a great upper range in my opinion especially considering she is a contralto. Her technique is also very notable. Thank you for the video and your hard work as always 🩷

Nice vocal range video upon Princess Stewart! Contralto? Showcased✅She's a low tessitura contralto and we couldn't expected from her to exhibit a large vocal range and high vocals. Big and powerful voice with a remarkable vibrato. Probably it wasn't her intent to showcase the head voice.

I wouldn’t really say high per se. She is for sure lower than Timi Yuro or Izora Armstead. She is a contralto in the vein of Nina Simone which is pretty much an average tessitura contralto.

Exceptional and legendary vocalist! Pioneer indeed. I wonder why most don’t think of her when they think of the greatest vocalists. Is it because of the songs that got popular like “Walk on By” and “Do You Know The Way To San Jose”, which do not sound as challenging (vocally)?

That is exactly why. And her studio works overall being softer than her live performances. Moreover people simply lost the memory of her legacy unfortunately. Also nice to see you here, I rarely see you on my channel. Tons of artists you don’t know about who I posted about in the past year or so. And the voice types series too.

Can i make a suggestion for a video? Maybe it's interesting that u compare the same notes but sung by different voices types in different registers. Like B4 belted, head voiced, mixed by soprano and then the same for a mezzo or a tenor etc

@@rockerfeller2014 she's a coach, you should rely more on actual voice teachers since they study vocal anatomy. Though in some countries like Brazil, they don't really go in depth into vocal anatomy in the universities or conservatories, they might even teach it, but very superficially, so every teacher here says VERY different things, sometimes not really accurate, which was a bummer for me.
