Large vocal range for Louise Homer! I know that possessing almost 3 octaves of range in Opera is a lot. And it seems she could use at least 2 octaves and a half of singable range up to C6. I like her tone and she had a robust voice.

I wanted to ask if you could, please, make a video explaining the difference between a deep mezzo and a real contralto. And why Cher and Diana aren't contraltos. edit: Because all vocal coachs in the internet say they are.

Responding to your comment, I'm also a big fan of D.A. The question about Diana being ''a true contralto'' or not, comes down to her vocal manipulation technique, which I consider great, artistically. As the user above said, she constantly lowers her larynx to give that low sound. The difference between it and a real contralto is that her voice doesn't remain naturally low without using certain techniques. An example of a true contralto that Diana tries to imitate is Nina Simone, who, unlike her, maintains the tone throughout its entire range, Diana cannot. Ok I hardly ever get it right lol, but sounds mezzo soprano to me. My favorite note was the F4 just beautiful. I'm still getting into opera but she had a really nice voice.

Yes, a dramatic mezzo. I recommend listening or watching operas with subtitles if you want to get into it.

@@KajiVocals Ok will do. Any other mezzos and contraltos you recommend I really like warmer & darker voices. Many videos I've seen they claim to be that, but turn out to be sopranos I like sopranos too.

Sounds like a genuine mezzo-soprano lol. She doesn’t have the resonant low notes of a contralto but has more power in her low notes than a soprano.
