To Mobileye Team: Those hardcore technology slides does not help to get confidence of your company road maps. Tesla FSD may have more problem or lower relibility than your solutions, their real road drive video make them better in people's mind, just release more real road drive video. By the way, the video in bilibili which uproaded by zeeker 001 NGP user shows that your solution was just a disaster. If Mobileye marketing team keep use this way to promote Mobileye, stock will fall below IPO price.

The good/bad data separation does not need to run real time. The glue code to tie together NNs does. On top of that real time glue code runs on CPUs, NNs run on inference hardware. Not a fair comparison.

Amnon, seeing as israel has very clearly demonstrated great evil you may want to distance yourself from that evil very explicitly, publicly and repeatedly if you want anyone to ever deal with your company ever again. Pretending that you aren't doing evil is more of the same.

With Tesla we're seeing unfiltered customer videos. Hours and hours of them. This gives us a clear picture of how good and how bad FSD is. With Mobileye it's only company-curated videos. By comparison, this is far less indicative of true capabilities, because you never know what percentage of drives were smooth. Please allow unaffiliated 3rd parties to evaluate your system.
@TheDiplomat27
@TheDiplomat27 Ай бұрын
Agreed. I would like to see more unfiltered, long form, videos. It's weird because a couple years ago, Mobileye did release some hour long videos but then they stopped.
@shaimach
@shaimach Ай бұрын
@@TheDiplomat27 Even a 1 hour long video is not enough. One can record 100 of them using two cars in one week, and show only the best one. We need an unaffiliated source. One which doesn't care showing failure, of it occurs.
@TheDiplomat27
@TheDiplomat27 Ай бұрын
@@shaimach I agree. But part of the issue might be that Mobileye only deploys their tech through OEMs like carmakers. They don't deploy it directly to the consumer like Tesla does. And the only carmaker that has deployed SuperVision on city streets to consumers is Zeekr in China and it is still in beta. You might be able to find some videos if you can get on the Chinese Google. I know you can find consumer videos of SuperVision on highways on the Zeekr on the Chinese Google. SuperVision is going to other OEMs like Polestar but they have not released SuperVision to the consumer yet AFAIK. So until the carmaker actually releases SuperVision to the consumer, our only hope is to get videos from Mobileye. It is not like Tesla which is willing to deploy FSD beta directly to the fleet right away. Most OEMs are more cautious about deploying self-driving software.
@TheDiplomat27

@@dasstraat This isn't any more impressive than Tesla's latest FSD. And Tesla doesn't require the sort of HD mapping Mobileye relies on. Each approach has its merits, and I applaud Mobileye for what they've achieved, but they were also promising this back in 2017 :)

@@skwdenyerActually the mapping is just an extension to what Mobileye offers. Tesla is limited, because they need to save money as much as possible, on sensors and mapping. Watch Engineering Explained video about them, if you want to learn more. And if mapping is indeed needed - so what? Most likely it's not that difficult to map, if this will work, the business will explode.

I am not an official representative of MobileEye but I am invested in the company so allow me to share with you my thinking, and I apologize if it’s too much text for you to read . Imagine cruise control in your car , it’s pretty crazy right ? You are trusting some technology to keep you at a specific speed while you take your foot COMPLETELY off the gas, with confidence ! Now imagine a technology that keeps you in your lane so well that you can take your HANDS OFF THE WHEEL 😮 I imagine a world where even if you grab the wheel and physically try and steer into oncoming traffic this Driver Assistance Technology will actually prevent you from doing it . Again I apologize for rambling .

Robust sensing and predicting systems with layering give us confidence that our products will work. However, this type of system is susceptible to failure or cascading errors when events occur outside of their experience range. Even though they may be able to improvise, a human brain may distill more effectively.....integrating both is the best solution.

Over time, all of this differentiation will converge as users will have preferences. Most cars in the future will have some setting between sport and comfort. All OEMs will be offering these for users to setup the mode. For Robot taxis, it will likely baised to comfort mode

Hes right about finding partners for autonomous driving. Car manufacturers have been notoriously bad with technology in the past, so why try to do autonomous driving in-house? Consumers just want the safest, most robust system, so it makes sense to partner with Mobileye.

While the OEMs, or car manufacturers, engage in debates about their unique approaches to driving and efforts to distinguish themselves from competitors, Mobileye finds itself allocating an excessive amount of time and resources to meet these varied requirements. The elephant in the room is Waymo, which is rapidly expanding its fully autonomous taxi service across multiple cities. While other car companies and OEMs squabble over minor issues, Waymo is making history and poised to become the dominant force in self-driving car services. Their focus on safely transporting customers from point A to point B will allow them to accumulate billions of dollars in revenue. Most customer priorities seem to center on safety rather than nuanced differences in the self-driving experience. Customers are likely to engage in other activities during transportation, such as reading, sleeping, using computers, watching movies, etc. The hubris of traditional car manufacturers, fixated on minor distinctions, has blinded them to the importance of delivering a universally safe self-driving experience and QUICKLY delivering this to people who would love to hand over the tedium, danger, and stress of driving to a safe, careful robot. It's no surprise that Waymo has emerged as the world leader in the industry, leaving all the others in the dust.
