The specter is more stable near the ground and has more flying time. Good for chill sunday flying or following close to a road in ground effect .The wing can be a little unstable below 50-100m but high up in the clouds its more manouverable and its a more fun experience with the higher speed and adrenaline you get from it. Love them both.

Thank you for noticing this 9 year old video :) No its been many many years since that plane was in the air. I got more into 250mm drone FPV for a few years, then new regulations and other things made me lose interest. Maybe in the future I'll fly some more, even though I'm not allowed anymore (over 249 grams AUW regulation).

3:11 tis look like a pump for power steering right? (48v 9kw motor may I know where you brought from?any link.)
@markusbFPV2 жыл бұрын
Yes thats the power steering pump. I moved it later in the build. Its 800W if I remember correct, not 400W. The 9kW pump was salvaged from a Hyster R1.6 -99 along with the drive motor and speed controllers. For me it was free but Id guess it would cost about $5000 to buy as spare parts. Better find an other donor forklift or something and salvage from.
@fourcm20082 жыл бұрын
@@markusbFPV that is big size I guess? 9kw hydraulic pump is not common on market. Asspecially from cina , only can find 48v 4kw .
@markusbFPV2 жыл бұрын
@@fourcm2008 Yes 9kW is a big pump motor. I think 4kW is more than enough for a small loader but it will take a little more time to move the loader as you have to use a pump with lower output, lower cc. If you want to build a machine I suggest going to the local scrap yard ar forklift service dealer and ask if they have any used stuff they want to sell or donate.

looks like it is only rear-wheel drive. how did you construct the drive unit. electric motor going to a differential axle? or is it a fixed axle?
@markusbFPV2 жыл бұрын
Yes its rwd only. I built it on a peerless transaxle from a lawn mower. A 24V/1kW motor powering the transaxle via belt system. Works pretty good but i dont use this little machine anymore since i built the bigger 4wd machine a few years ago. Broke a transaxle (snapped the aluminium housing) but mounted a new one and welded more supports around it. Afterthat its all good. Yes its a differential inside it, so its really only 1wd in practice. Works good on most terrain but can get stock sometimes.
@ottonormalbitcoin96012 жыл бұрын
@@markusbFPV thanks for replying. What would you estimate is the payload on this small loader? what's the heaviest your comfortable using it with? Also do you have any plans for it? Would be happy to pay for it. You're big loader is super impressive - but I'm about to build a small one myself, fitting to my needs.
@markusbFPV2 жыл бұрын
@@ottonormalbitcoin9601 The weight is about 500kg and lifting capacity is about 250-300kg, then the pressure relief valve opens. A little more and the rear lifts up. No problem driving with 250kg on the forks but traction is not as good then as its only rwd. At the moment its not for sale but maybe in the future. Still need it for loading and unloading at another place where I cant bring my bigger machine.

So where in Europe are you??? I'm guessing Northern Europe, judging by the plants. As for the design of the machine itself, my only beef is with the design of the lift cylinders for the loader. The stationary ends of the cylinders is way too high for best mechanical advantage, i.e. to close to the stationary pivots for the loader arm's. They're much better than a lot of loader's I've seen coming out of Russia, but the design has the mechanical force's fighting the structure of the machine instead of lifting the load at the bottom of the lift arm range of motion. Your uprights are being put under a tremendous amount of extra strain because of that. On the plus side, you built it heavy enough that it's working, and your weld's look very good.
@markusbFPV2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Im in Sweden so it was a good guess! Yes you are probably right. I looked at many compact loaders at various shops before building this one. Its very similar in many ways. The same thought crossed my mind when looking around, but it seems its a trade of between many factors. Lift height, cylinder lenght and also depth of the loader front part. With lower upright mounting position I would need much longer cylinders or build the uprights deeper. I wanted the machine to lift high enough without being to long in the loader so thats why I decided to make it like this. Yeah there is alot of force involved and I made it as sturdy as I possibly could with the material at hand. So far no problems :) The weakest point is actually the top mount beam for the tilt cylinder. I could easily break the machine if I misbehave to much with the tilt.. Thanks for your input!

Very impressive narrowing the axle seems counterproductive as wider stance means more stability when load is lifted High and it looked like it took a lot of time maybe smaller axles out of a small truck like an S10 or Toyota would be a good option
@markusbFPV3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I had a witdh limit thats why I did that. I wanted the machine to be relatively compact, and lifting heavy loads is no problem aslong as you dont lift to high and turn the machine, but that is not an issue for my use :) Even with those axles mentioned I would have had to shorten them to fit my limit.

Im using one lift cylinder, from flowfit in uk. Its a 201/040, 40mm bore and 25mm rod. It lacks a bit in power so I would recommend going up a bit in size. But not to much. The tilt cylinder is the same size and has enough power because it has better mechanical advantage in this construction.
