Number 1: Thrace

Setnakhte is the best for a historical playthrough, especially if you manage to become Pharaoh and confederate Ramesses. My favorite faction so far

What about Memnon? I feel like him being all the way down in Nubia, at the very southern reaches of the game means he isn't boxed in and only needs to go up, while also not having to start the game beefing with anybody. Plus he starts off with some pretty good food producing regions, which makes for a good early game push as you can spam trash units at your first few turns. Also, while his unit roster is less impressive than Amenmesse (who also has access to Nubian units) and lack any strong melee infantry, chariot and cavalry units. The fact that he can also recruit Nubian Longbowmen and their stronger renowned version is pretty strong in my books. While the Nubian Longbowman as pretty average missile damage, their range is insane. In fact, they can outrange pretty much every other missile unit in the game, including slingers. Seriously, they are pretty broken in the game.

I wish we had got an iron age dlc campaign pack where we could have played as new factions like Medes Persis Lydia Judah Edom Ammon Qedarites Urartu Mannaea Scythians etc

Cimmeria is in a tough spot, but their unique cav is insane

Elam deserves some love, unique culture and unique native units that then you can recruit elsewhere, if the roaster was more varied it would be awesome, but I hope modders make an overhaul

I tried out ithaca on very hard. Ones you know, how to open and what way to go first. There absolute beasts. Turn 19now. Got all 3islands at home, the territory north (those moonflag faction) together with AJAX entire province. Fixing my 2e unit of noble archers, and invading sparta as we speak. Try it out, there awesome

Bought the game out of boredom despite my better judgement... and I am really enjoying it.

My first campaign is as Napata. My faction leader is Memnon who is an absolute badass, get access to Nubian units and start in a really interesting area of the map. Finding it really fun at the moment, basically get to form the Nubian dynasty of Egypt early I love it

The game is good to my surprise, it introduces many innovative, creative features that improve gameplay. Things like hiding on the battlefield is now more realistic, providing armies with many tactical opportunities that were used in real history. One of my best tactical execution happened in this game.. not in attila, rome 2..etc My issue is that the game is a bit confusing.. as Ramssess , I understand I work for Mehetpah pharaoh, he says that during the introduction.. but according to my diplomatical stance, we have no relationship im not even his vassal.. Also my father is Sethpa... but when i engage in diplomacy or look in the family tree, there is no information whatsover. You would basically not think that it's your father.. He talks to you as if you were some random minor faction. Good game but requies tweaks and changes here and there.

wish they give minor faction a patch to make them better like the main factions

Maybe im autistic but your way of valuing is diffrent from mine. Some factions have multiple gold tier units so yea its fair to say their roster is varied. Although everyone can recruit other gold and high tier units from court mechanic and and ancient legacies mechanic. I think in campaign economic power is BiS so i think faction with strong economic boosting buildings like irsu have the most raw power So im thinking irsu and mycene are S tier. If we talk about what is most fun faction then that would be whole diffrent tier list and imo sea peoples are super fun campaigns.

Played as Assyria (not hanigalbat) for my first campaign in dynasties it was awesome as hell, super dynamic first hundred turns, i didn’t actually gain traction and retain borders until then. Then I started steamrolling finally

Ramasses has a great sandbox campaign and a starting position that allows you to interact with lots of different cultures. The problem is people don't know how to play the faction. It's non-stop war and battles each turn. If you prefer to sit back and chill and snow-ball then it's not the campaign for you. If you like high-octane total war then he's perfect IMO.

By the actual mythology, Prometheus is a good guy and Zeus is a jerk. Prometheus created mortals and gave fire so that people wouldn't die from cold, Zeus didn't want to give fire, so Prometheus stole it from Olimpus, so Zeus punished Prometheus by bounding him to a rock and birds feeding on his liver each day (it would regrow next day). Chiron sacrificed his mortality to free Prometheus from his suffering. So, Chiron and Prometheus are representations of noble acts. Zeus is a selfish prick jerk.

Thanks for the guide. I tried Agamemnon's start on VH/VH initially because that's what I play in Warhammer 3, but I found the initial battles against Corinth quite brutal, winning but with crazy losses. I still haven't quite wrapped my head around the combat in Dynasties, especially compared to Warhammer, so if you have any tips, they'd be much appreciated. One thing I didn't try was having the elite recruitment available from the get-go in the campaign settings, so hopefully that helps.

I've tried Seti so much and he's literally unplayable. You get attacked by everyone, and it's almost impossible So frustrating and just not fun at all

I absolutely i agree on ramasess ,it was my first campaign and i tried 5 times and failed . Seti i am actually past turn 30 so far 😅

Hmm I feel like you didnt take the faction buildings and powers into consideration very much. Set has weaker units for sure, but really strong economy and more recruit slots. plus his generals get armor breaker trait unlocks which makes his low tier units really punch up above their weight. But disagreements aside loving to see more pharaoh content.

I think you generally undervalue Egyptian factions. Why Twoslet is C tier? More explanation needed. At least Amenmesse and Twoslet deserves be higher. And Se-ti's unique mechanism is really good at playing aggressively in early game though it's not easy to maximize it's potential.

Suppiluliuma is definitely much weaker than Kurunta as the game works from the launch. Not to mention you can get trade, but even with def settings he is much stronger. Both S with Irsu. All mesopotamia are trash compared to them I swear. From many points of view. For the except of fun of course xD. Egyptians Amenmesse I would say A close to S, Ramses A, Napata A, others complete trash, especially Tausret. Bay is way stronger as he can make shitloads of resources without even a fight. Greeks are all around B, Odysseus, Troy and Agamemnon A I'd say.

Bro has completely lost the plot, has he even played the game? The Medjai ARE the best in the world they are the best units compared to anything else that isnt Tier 6 and even tier 6 units suck cuz less menpower. He has the best court mechanic, he can attack in march stance without penatly he has the single best starting province to recruit units he has total freedom where to go and what legacy to choose and some really good buildings on top of that. The only thing medjai are lacking is armor but that just means they dont get the huge debuffs heavy units get.
