I have a love/hate affair with "Bad Megadeth". My life's history with that "genre" we can say...is more like a personal meme for me at this point 😅

Affiliated with the suffering is a good album but that album artwork is totally cringe glad the album artwork got better.

I have a 2002 reissue of Despise The Sun. With the original artwork. On Relapse. The self titled CROWBAR is my favorite one of theirs. I love the opening track, High Rate Extinction. The chugging guitars just slap. And of course the track Existence is Punishment aka the Beavis and Butthead song.

The more I listen to Super Collider the more I like it more then a lot of Megadeth's later albums. It's not thrash, it's a good traditional heavy metal album. I don't understand the thinking that not thrash equals bad. THM has more variation than limited thrash metal, that's why I like it more as a subgenre.

Every time a metal band take a turn on their main style (or make something out of their comfort zone) it's always considered as a bad album, and that's ok, but then it shouldn't be on any METAL album list all together. For instance, Lulu is a bad ROCK album :)

And Justice For All is trash, and so is every M'tallica that followed.

Never understood the hate for Megadeth's Super collider. Yeah, it's no Rust in peace or Peace Sells. And yeah, I've no idea when I last listened to it. But I do remember liking it a fair bit when I got it, and to me, the worst Megadeth album will be and will always will be their Risk album. I never liked that one.

All of the albums are metal, but that's what resonates with me, and I haven't heard much of anything else besides the top acclaimed pop and indie albums, which didn't do much for me. I've only listened to like 50 albums from this year, as I've spent much more time digging in to many 90's to 2010's albums. In my opinion, there are no 10/10 albums this year, but a handful of 9-9.5/10. The past 3 years, I scored one 10/10 each year (Ad Nauseam - Imperative Imperceptible Impulse, Krallice - Crystalline Exhaustion and Cattle Decapitation - Terrasite). I was disappointed when Abbath left but Demonaz did a fine job with Northern Chaos Gods.

I listened Sons Of Northern Darkness TODAY after very long break from Immortal and it has insane power, truly feels like a beast breaking from it's chains and running into the night. Not a lot material out there with similar feel and no - just drumming faster is not enough.
