Play @ 5:30 - Isn’t it quicker to run directly through home plate as opposed to slightly slowing down and sliding? Especially now that catchers can’t block the plate. Seems like a sprint through, like you would to 1st would be the quickest path

Do 2008 Cubs-Sox where Edmonds and Fontenot hit B2B HRs, the Cubs bat around, Edmonds puts another one out and Piniella pinch hits De La Rosa for Fontenot because Lou had no idea what was going on in the game.

Wow. What a great video. Hidden behind all that enthusiasm was a man who had some troubles like the rest of us, but he INSISTED on bringing joy and warmth to everyone he met. I love Sammy, but aside from their mutual love of the game and HR counts, Slammin' Sammy can't hold a candle to Mr. Cub when it comes to being a good teammate and humble person. I think of this year, 2004, when shortly after this video was made, Sosa had the corked bat, the whole team imploded (Kent Merkur calling up the press box to threaten Steve Stone) and Sosa walked out on his team the final day. There was so much promise that year. Ugh. Even w/2016, I'll never get over 84, 03, and 04.

Why the hell did Neris get the win? Brown left the game up 1-0 with 7 no hit innings and Neris is the one who let the Brewers tie the game in the first place…
@BorrachoBandit
@BorrachoBandit 2 күн бұрын
First time watching baseball? The cubs took the lead after he pitched. So he gets the win. If the brewers took the lead while Neris was in and we came back in the 10th it would be a no contest.

Yikes - Cubs bullpen is a dumpster fire. Ben has a no-no going and the "No Lead is Safe" bullpen took over. Had the Cubs not scored 5 runs in the 10th, the Brewers surely would've walked it off. May has been a trainwreck.
