Peter , thanks for this. I like Sonos quality and esthetics but, customer support , app . connectivity issues leave much to be desired. You are so right. I am primarily intersted in stereo pair Bluetooth outdoors not WiFi the new Roam 2. I’m also thinking about expanding my Sonos ecosystem to turntable and hifi speakers but have dints at this point due to ongoing issues. Thank you!!

I have two Sonos systems. One at my business, one at home. The old app recognized by which WiFi it was connected to which system to open. Not anymore. Now I have ten plus minutes of frustration trying to get the Sonos app not to try to open my home system on my office network and instead find my work system. The work system is in many rooms of a restaurant. Without numbers how do you expect to control a sound system? Is this not basic shit? The arrogance is confounding. They knew the release was a disaster. I warned all my friends no to update but they pushed it out anyway and everyone woke up to the new app. Peter, save your review effort on the Sonos headphones. NOT GOING TO BUY SONOS PRODUCTS ANYMORE

Hello Peter. When I open “About my System” in the new App, none of the speakers include the WM:0 or WM:1 information. This information still appears when I view “About My System “ on an old iPad using the S2 App. Any reason why Sonos is not displaying the WM:0 information on the new App?

Terrible! My system was not working yesterday I wasted a couple of hours trying to fix it. Only one speaker was working and the sub was not working either extremely frustrating.

Usbc to usbc connectivity? I have that with Bowers & Wilkins PX7 which is not the newest product. U can hear the difference on Tidal with/out wire. Otherwise with Spotify or AM I did not hear any difference. I would not buy Sonos Ace. There are better options with premium materials. I get it NC is good thing, soubd is good, battery life is good but…. They do not look premium for this price. No reason to swap for me from PX7.

My beam2 one SL and roam they fall apart after update of the lasted version 😔😢 the app itself drop wifi connection often even my high speed modem is next to me. I really upset about this. Please help me how to solve 🙂‍↕️

I just got the delivery of my sub. I couldn't add it to my system. I have a sonos move, sonos arc thats connected vis hdmi to my samsung tv. But everytime i use the app to search for the sub and move , it finds it, i update but doesnt add to my system. The message tells me to lig out, then log in . I do this but nothing changes

Just bought them. I’d say I’m super satisfied thus far. Did hate the app update recently obviously. Also have had AirPods Max previously. They’re pretty similar in quality honestly but I prefer these in terms of longer listening comfort.

How about the Alexa issue? Still cant install Alexa in my Arc using iOS.

Peter thanks so much I just love your detailed professional reviews. Could you or somebody else please tell me where I can download that Dolby Atmos Demo you used near the start of the review. My Ace headphones are being delivered tomorrow I pre ordered a month ago and the Atmos demo would be a good test that I can run through my Plex server and Sonos Arc soundbar then switching over to the Ace :)

It’s a sad day when a real enthusiast like you Peter has to “vent” about a company failing to consider its impact on its customers. Thanks for being honest as it’s influencers like you that can get them to listen. My main issue is that the update was not something I can reverse out. Same with the firmware update- I couldn’t access my system until I agreed to let it update firmware, which I was very nervous about. Software development is hard and mistakes happen, but forcing customers to endure the mistakes with no back out option is inexcusable. Why can’t we just go back to previous version until they sort out the issues? This experience and the approach Sonos has applied has turned me completely off them as a brand and I will not buy another Sonos product, and I’m gonna tell everyone I know not to buy it either! Very disappointed as I was a real fan boy.

Peter amazing video as usual! Would love more analysis on swapping TV audio from an Arc, you seem like the only person who could really get into this right. Does it support 7.1 Dolby TrueHD? How does it compare to AirPods playing spatial surround from AppleTV? This is the big differentiator of this product and I don’t see any reviews really going into detail about how it works and how it compares to existing “personal surround sound” options, you would be the guy to knock this out of the park too!

Hi Peter, thanks for your honest review, just wonder the difference between Sonos Arc + Sub gen3 + 2 OneSL VS Sonos Ace swap While watching Dolby Atmos Movies. Sonos Ace claim only connect to Arc. If we have Sub gen3 and Sonos surround pair with Arc swap to sonos Ace, Is get better Sound Quality & Immersive Sound than if we only have Sonos Arc? A simple thing like Tidal Play artist next track, broken wtaf

Every single time I try to play music on my Move 2 (through the app or AirPlay) the music does nothing but skip/buffer. I have to turn the Move 2 off and back on and that resolves it. But this is happening every single time I start to play music.

The new app is a disaster. Part of my Sonos ecosystem includes two Sonos amps, which power single-ceiling speaker in each of the 6 rooms. The app update eliminated the DUAL MONO option, which results in the right channel playing in one room and the left channel in another.

My Android app is 80.02.05...

Dear Peter, Having pre-ordered 2 pairs, one for me and one for my wife, we were looking forward to be able to watch movies etc through the Arc late at night without disturbing others. Sonos advertised 2 pairs at a slight discount, implying this was the case. I received my headphones today and imagine my disappointment when I find out you can only pair one at a time, making watching TV or movies as a couple impossible. I really can’t understand why this wasn’t mentioned by Sonos. Do you happen to know if they will add this ability in the future? Or do we have to wait for Arc 2. I am thinking of returning both pairs and getting my money back. I am very disappointed.

Hi Peter, Thank you for fruitful information given. I'm now on a 20 years old Bose AV20 & traditional analog speaker (Arcam - Vandersteen 2C - rest gone to graveyards already). Looking to do some upgrade with Sonos & questions are: 1. How can I integrate the Vandersteen speaker with Sonos ecosystem? Should I eye into Amp? Can do away with current Arcam integrate amp as it is about to reach end-of-life 2. Considering Beam 2 + Era 100/300 + Sub Mini as my ultimate end game set & "no more" but can be less (see 2.2) 2.1 Would 300 overwhelm Beam 2? From price point aspect, 300 is more match to Arc (and 100 to Beam 2) but my view is having 300 with upward firing would do well with Beam 2 2.2 Need sub "and" rear speaker. i.e. which combo doing a better job (a) duo-1 Beam+Sub or (b) duo-2 Beam+rear or (c) trio Thanks in advance

The TV Audio Swap feature is pretty underwhelming in that the stream from Arc to Ace is too soft even at full volume (Just received these today). Anything on Bluetooth is loud and clear so it should be a problem with WIFI stream

May people are criticising that music is not streamed via Wi-Fi, rather over Bluetooth. Little do they know that for example when you connect you phone to Ace via Wi-Fi, you will no longer be able to use the same Wi-Fi chip on the phone for accessing internet. 4G/5G has to be enabled. Otherwise you cannot have two networks on a single Wi-Fi chip, unless virtual bridge is confirmed on the phone. Different Phone OS needs different implementation leading to poor product. What Sonos has done here is great. Wi-Fi streaming from Arc as it can use the same 2.4 Ghz network.

The CEO should be fired for this fiasco of ‘New Coke’ proportions. I dread using my Sonos now and just use it for TV speakers. I cant find my playlists as i compile a playlist individually for visiting guests,family events, jazz compilations and festivals and special events like anniversaries and birthdays.

Excellent video, type c audio input is awesome. It appears the iPhone doesnt have "lossless bluetooth" for these so the fact you can use a type c to type c cable is so cool. I like my Sony XM4 over the XM5. I will have to experience the noise canceling myself, along with more intensive songs. Sonys EQ in the app is better than Sonos. (Sony has more bands to adjust and config saves to headphones so you don't need the app after setup.) Sonops Ray support might make this a more tempting offer for apartment living.

In the latest update, Sonos changed the terms of service to make it harder to sue them. You must agree to go through a process or you give up rights.

My true play doesn’t work. And I have a new network won’t allow my subs to work

Sadly, mine are behaving as other publications have mentioned: impact sound on the ear cups when walking, hissing on the right earcup when there is silence but transparency turned on and constant brief on/off switching of the ANC with moving the head even the slightest bit. Bummer - not ready for release at all.

DO NOT UPDATE TO THE NEW APP !!!! This new app is a major step backwards - kind of surprising that it is released???? I have 9 speakers and he old app worked fine - to play different music on different floors. This new app is so complex to try to select different speakers - and then have it work. I get a lot of ERROR messages. And to individually adjust volume is a hit and miss. We have two newer iPhones - and we have to hit the volume buttons some 6-7 times to get a response from this new app. (its as if the screen does not feel the touch) The old app had no such problems. PLEASE BRING THE OLD APP BACK !! Last 7 years I have got my friends into SONOS - this app will stop me recommending SONOS. Please do something rational here. !!!
