The Apple smartphone mic is the 100% solution. No reason to provide another mic to duplicate the same thing with Apple devices. Android systems is an open source operating system with thousands of variations with hardware, software, and firmware. The external mic sound connected to the Android device will still have to be processed with thousands of config variations with even more variations with advance Trueplay results. The solution for Sonos for non-Apple devices in adding mic Trueplay at the speakers only (advance Trueplay adjusts for the room config and primary sitting position).

@@mrgold3591 Please understand, having a separate mic is not device dependent, doesn't matter if you are using Apple or Android or none of the above. Having a wired mic connected to the speaker amp is absolutely no different than using an Apple phone and walking around the room-except you get a better omnidirectional mic. It’s very simple: just use a mic that connects to one of the speakers, in my case I' thinking particularly the ARC or ARC Ultra. It’s exactly the same as having a built-in mic on the Ultra or other models, except you can move it around the room. This setup has worked for 15-20 years on other amps and would be much more accurate than trying to use the little directional mic on an Apple device.

@@zaf7819 Unless I'm not understanding how Sonos is configured. The Sonos app is needed to process the sound for primary siting position and room acoustics in stand alone or home theater with I.O.S. device advance Trueplay. Goes back to my original comment of it being easier to use I.O.S. devices for consistent audio results to process compared to Android. Having a mic internal to the Arc Ultra or having a 10-30 foot cord to an external mic from the Arc Ultra would seem to be the exactly the same procedure Sonos uses with Trueplay at the speaker only. I would let Sonos know your suggestion because they are the ones that engineered and configured the system.
