How did you do it, the ABS sensor is inside on the side of the axle, and the ring on the bearings is outside

Hi there, do you mean i got the bearing the wrong way?
@__Nomad__6 ай бұрын
@@mikebryan544 “no... I found out that where the ABS sensor is, the bearing is magnetized. And this ring is a STOPPER for the bearing in the seat!
@mikebryan5446 ай бұрын

Hello Mike,what is the dimensions of the 8mm double plates? Despite the thickness. Thanks !
@mikebryan544 Жыл бұрын
I can’t say exactly in this case. However as long as the plate is large enough to accommodate the wheel stud PCD it will be fine. In this case the model is 5x112. Id go for 125mm to give plenty of area for the method to work. Use some cardboard to make a template up first. Also 8mm plate isn’t essential, 4or 5 would work equally as well i suppose.

Does it have the magnetic abs ring on that bearing if so how do you check which end in first ? I had a bearing done on my van and think the mechanic has installed it back to front ... Abs light is on and I've just fitted a New genuine lead there.
@ostosix2 жыл бұрын
Hi there If i remember correctly I just the part number of the bearing the same way as one before. I had a quick search and found this helpfull video. I you take out the drive shaft you could physically check the inner side is magnetic i suppose. See video kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnran5ernM5pldk If you need to rework then make sure you get heavily discounted quote from the mechanic who made the error. Hope you get sorted. Thankyou.

That looks like it's the wrong bearing cause it's supposed to go in more and then a circle clip goes after to lock the bearing.
@mikebryan5442 жыл бұрын
Hi there, it is the correct bearing and you can see the locking clip around the outside to lock it in place. You can also hear it clicking in to place as it goes fully home. Thanks for watching

Good video, can’t beat some improvisation. The process is similar on an e46. When I did mine i used a slide hammer to pull out the hub flange, then a bearing press kit (threaded bar with some large spacers/washers) to pull it through from the back. Took some effort to break the bearing carrier free because of all built up crap & rust over the years. Top vid 👍🏻

@mikebryan5444 жыл бұрын
Hi thankyou. Yes you have it right, id say. You can use pea shingle around the pipe, but any pebbles would work. If its only foot traffic then you could possibly get away with just soil. The fall should be at least 1/100. For such a small area you may not need 1m3. You should dig a sample pit like on the pavingexpert.co.uk site. If the ground is free draining then then two crates may suffice.

@mikebryan5444 жыл бұрын
If each stack will take the weight of a person i’d say yes. Bind each section together with wire. Id put a board over top to spread the load and obviously i’d say that would be unsuitable for a vehicle drive. But id say it’d be fine under grass. If you have free draining ground i wouldn’t worry to much about size. Im on a hill though so should ever be a problem with water logged ground. You only want to do it once though so make it right!
