I have -6 myopia. I'm afraid my case is genetic and I won't be able to improve naturally I remember when I was 10 years old I realized that my vision was different. From the age of 5 to 10 I always sat at the same distance from the school board, at the back 6 meters away. And at the age of 10, for the first time I realized that I was having trouble seeing letters, so I started to sit closer to the front. So I'm afraid it's genetic, but I'm starting to improve my habits I have -6 and two weeks ago I started reading books without glasses. First I started about 40cm away and I could read it in the sun but it was very blurry but I could read Now at the same distance as before the letters are clearer and I'm 50/60cm away and I'm able to read Is reading like this reading from a distance that is blurred a form of active focus too? My father had high myopia -8 and my brother was 1 year older than me and coincidentally at the age of 10, 14, 17 the advancement of myopia was almost exactly the same as mine. So I'm really afraid that it's genetic and there's no way to reverse it. :'(

Hii sir Im Dilruba and 17 year old pre medical-student from India ,nice to see you work on this kind of problem ! My problem is listed below pls have a look it's a bit long i know but still it will very kind of you if you reply: Sir since i am a pre medical student i need to have a long hour of self study so I need to spend a lot of time reading books and off course need to attend online classess for 8-9 hours and rest time fornself study to qualify a competitive exam in order to get Dr .degrre here in india . so i have seen some vdos where specialist says myopia also happened due to long hours of viewing nearer distance and screen time as well and so it happened to me as i spend a lot of time doing self study meaning sitting and reading books and less exposure to sunlight which lead me to have glasses with -2.50 in the last year may 2023 btw i don't like wearing glasses and don't wear them regularly ..what to do you say should i use them regularly as doctor said me to have them on while waking up in the morning till going to bed at night..??? Between i don't use them this way ,i use them only when needed to view far things while im at my college, not using them while reading book or observing nearer object will it increase my power from-2.50 to -3 or something im really scared pls advise plus there is no increase in power since im able to see clearly while observing distant object with my prescribed -2.50 Besides i m liking the process of active focus as i have recently discovered your channel and as im having a busy schedule of 17 hours study 7 hours of sleep and other activities how much time should I give to active focus and when pls sir reply to me i just want go get rid of this anyhow! your advice will be highly appreciated

WHAT IF I DON'T USE GLASSES WHILE READING a book OR WHILE OBSERVING NEARER OBJECT WILL IT Help ?? I mean will it increase my power from -2:50 ?? Im 17 and a pre -medical student and we need almost 8-9 hours of screen time (online class)and 8 hours of self study? I got checked my eyes in the last year may 2023 and found out i had myopia of power -2.50 nd doctor prescribed me a glasses but since i was not comfortable with the glass i don't use it frequently i use it only while i am in class looking in the class boards and also while using my tab for online classes but for rest of the time i don't use it . I see there is no change and even i feel like my ability to see nearer objects without spectacles is decreasing but with glassese i can see clearly also me as a student don't have adequate amount of time to do long hours of observing sun Pls sir advice me what to do

It's up to you but if I had a child with that low prescription I wouldn't stop school. That's too drastic in my opinion. Regular active focus in the distance plus practising on an eye chart should help.

@@maxoptimate8214 Thank you. I had -2.00 SPH and -0.75 CYL at my worst. Sounds like you don't have far to go to improve back to 20/20. If I was you, I'd learn active focus and practice during walks and on an eye chart at home.

@seeclearlyАй бұрын
I can't tell you what to do as that is up to you but if I had a child who had a -0.50 or -0.75 prescription I would only let them use it when absolutely necessary to see in the distance. Otherwise I would leave the glasses off. I would also encourage them to do active focus games on an eye chart and reward them for doing so.

Thanks for your video My left myopia is -2.75 diopter and astigmatism is 1.75 diopter. After watching your video, To wear weak glasses, I got a new glasses with -1.5 sph and -1.75 cyl But it feels too bad for me and I can't focus on reading Should I lower cyl ? How much should I lower cyl?
@seeclearlyАй бұрын
Can you be more specific please? Are these new glasses Differential glasses? As in, are they just for reading? If so, you may want to reduce the CYL also as it is not as necessary for close-up work. However, I would retain the CYL for your Normalised glasses.

I was looking at the image with the birds, thinking I've never noticed ghost images looking through my right eye with astigmatism. As I concentrated more, suddenly there was a ghost image. It takes time for the ghost image to pop up. It does move around but it seems like my vision stays where there isnt a ghost image. Does that mean I can work on the spherical side of the issue?

@@Thy_Mastermind Yes, you can read text or look at an object. The act of clearing up a small amount of blur with active focus is what leads to improvement.
