When charging the LiFePo4 battery, what is your exact configuration? Why is the Delta 2 showing output and no input, but remaining full charge?

At that time, I had the Delta 2 connected to the AC mains to prevent it from discharging during the test/charging of the LiFePo4 battery (both have similar capacities, around 1kWh). Since it was fully charged and connected to AC, it didn’t show any input because, when the battery is full, it can operate in pass-through mode with an AC input.

@@VolvoCamperLife Thanks for the response. Have you tried to directly charge the LiFePo4 battery from the Alternator Charger with only the Charge function and not the Reverse Charge function?

@@morrisa2a Hi, you’re welcome. That’s not possible, as the “Charge function” is only for charging the station, meaning from the connected source to the EcoFlow charging station (there’s nothing else you can connect to the proprietary EcoFlow connector).

might want to get a higher voltage battery or a stepup converter. the specific power station shown here can accept up to 60v so a 48v battery would give you the full 500w input

Hi, I have the same setup, but I can’t reverse charge the 24V battery from the EcoFlow. Charging the EcoFlow works fine from the 24V battery. Any ideas? If I hook up a 12V battery, it works fine both ways.

Hi, I’ve also had some issues with reverse charging a 24V battery a few times. Sometimes it throws an error. I turn off the Alternator Charger, wait a moment, turn it back on, start charging, and it works. It doesn’t happen every time. I read a post from a group member on Facebook a few days ago saying that after the latest firmware update, the issue stopped occurring for him. However, I don’t have more information on this yet, as the newer version hasn’t been offered to me so far.

Can a 24 V battery be better maybe you only need 1 battery or use a converter on the 12 V and convert it's power to 24 V out ?

Yes, a 24V battery is better solution (you will reach about 380W charging speed).. If you have only 12V battery then you can use step-up converter.

Demonstration of how DSTC behaves in this situation. Using half or quarter throttle wouldn’t change anything in this case. Even with full throttle, it reduced the power delivered to the wheels to a minimum due to slippage by lowering the engine’s RPM.

You can also power the PowerStream with a 24V LiFePo4 battery, or even 48V and 51.2V. To charge a 24V battery, you can use an EcoFlow Alternator Charger, or another DC-DC or AC-DC charger. Check out my latest video for more information, where I cover battery charging in detail.

I 've tried this setup using an XT60i cable with MC4 solar connectors from my delta pro to my 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 Battery with ring connectors on the battery with MC4 connectors and I'm only getting 200 Watts input into the Delta Pro. So why am I not getting the 500 + watt DC input from the 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 Battery ?

Been meaning to ask, could you tell me what your small wood stove is? Would you recommend it? Been looking for something like this but most portable stoves are either full on stovetops or just portable fire pits. Buying an XC70 for exactly this kind of use next year and can’t believe this channel exists…. Answered so many of my possible questions!

Yes, definitely. But many people have 12V batteries at home, so they can be used this way to increase the voltage. I’m currently using a 24V battery, but it could easily be 48V as well 😊

This is such a fantastic overview! I recently got the ecoflow alternator charger as part of a bundle of Delta 2 max and max battery that i intend to use almost exclusively for home backup/emergencies. Ive seen many reviews now showcasing the ability to reverse charge LiFePo4 batteries so i ended up getting two 24V 100 mah Goldenmate batteries planning to put them in parallel. It reverse charges and behaves exactly as you've shown in your video, but im worried about connecting them in parallel since i cant be sure they are fully charged and balanced. Now others in Facebook groups have highly recommended i get dedicated Victron Smart charger thats designed for LiFePo4 batteries. Obviously i dont want to spend more money if it can already charge but i want to ensure its safe for the batteries. Im getting a Victron Smart Shunt thats on the way so that i have a way to monitor the batteries but would love your thoughts!

Hi, I understand your concerns, and I think they’re valid since such charging might not result in a 100% proper charge. For me, this is more of a backup solution rather than the primary purpose, so I’m willing to accept it along with the risk. If you plan to use it long-term or regularly, or if you don’t have another way to charge those batteries (I primarily charge my 24V batteries using an AC LiFePo4 charger), I’d recommend doing it the way you mentioned - with a charger specifically designed for this purpose so you can be sure it’s done right. If you’ve already tested it in the meantime, let me know how it works (or doesn’t). Thanks, and best of luck!

Ďakujem za upozornenie, samozrejme viem a snažím sa to rešpektovať ako sa len dá. Táto zbierka je z veľkej časti z prístupov na rodinné pozemky, prenajaté chaty, aj vlastný pozemok kde je lesná prístupová cesta. Nemám problém nechať značku :) Je to u nás veru prísne, ale účel prístupu k súkromnému pozemku je akceptovaný ;)
