Don’t know if you know but if you want the toughest paint possible, go to a shop nearby that paints semi trucks and trailers. They’ll most likely be using Imron paint mixing system. Imron was specifically designed to be the absolute toughest paint for the most extreme elements for coating commercial trucks, trailers and commercial jet aircraft that go from 100 degrees to -30 F for several hours and back to 100 at a different airport. Also resistant to Jet fuel, diesel fuel and many corrosion chemicals. It’s designed to endure all that daily and keep its shine for at least 10 years. It comes in either single stage or base/ clear. It can also be color sanded and buffed. It’s a hard job though as the finish is incredibly hard.

I had a 1975 Ford Granada 4 door back in highschool, a little over 20yrs ago. Just had a 302 with a C4 transmission. Speedometer showed it could go either 100mph or 120mph, can't remember. It could top out at 150mph. Did some add-ons to the engine and during the drag race we had here in the texas panhandle back then, found out that the unibody couldn't handle the 300+ft lbs of torque at the wheels. The cops labeled it a sleeper, so I had fun driving around town. One cop decided to follow me to see if he could give me a ticket. I knew my way around and ended up behind him without breaking any traffic laws. His eyes were the size of dinner plates when he looked in the rear view mirror and saw me. Never got followed by a cop again after that, at least in that car
