You need to stop giving secular bands credit. With their songs. Do you need to stick with Stryper music.

Holy shit, the memories. A 14 year old kid, in the middle of NOWHERE Pennsylvania, working at two different farms, milking cows and KIX played three shows in our small town center . The first show is responsible for my LOVE of live music. Never seen anything like that before. The long hair, theatrics, LOUD music.... Thank you KIX. 40 years later and many concerts later I am addicted to Live music. I guess I got lucky and witnessed the best from the start. KIX=Great live music

Does Steve Howard have a social media page to contact him? If yes, can you attach the link or can you ask him if he has the June episode from 1982 of PM Magazine with Behind-the-Scenes footage from the movie "Grease 2". Really awesome he preserved the PM Magazine Media Archives for your series!

Steve Howard is not on social media, but I reached out to him with your question. Here's his response: "I did not catalogue and save very much from the PM days. I think I might still have one of the old posters we placed around Washington. Frankly, the only reason I saved the Greaseman videos was . . . because I acted in them. PM was a nation-wide program, where about 50-75 local affiliates either created content or ran content from among several pieces sent from the PM main offices. That content (on what we called the “National Reel”) was delivered each week to affiliates. I do not remember the piece detailed in your email but I strongly suspect it was off the “National Reel” that evening. We simply didn’t have the budget nor manpower to produce such a piece. I headed up the program for WTOP as Producer/Director for about 5 years. We had to provide each week, about 110 minutes of material gathered from the “National Reel” and supplemented by about 10 “pieces” we produced locally. So, in addition to the fact that we did not preserve pieces or complete shows, we had no reason to catalogue anything on the National Reel as it was provided to us. I do not know if the National Office (which I believe was in Boston) catalogued things semi- or permanently. And, regardless, I believe those folks folded the tent on the show in the late 80’s so any material from those days on their end is probably long gone. S. Howard"

@@SteveOlsen Thanks so much for contacting Steve Howard. Greatly Appreciated! I am told the Grease 2 Behind the Scenes segment from PM Magazine in 1982 must have been from the Los Angeles station KTTV. I'm going to see who I can contact who worked at the station during that time plus I will be sure to enquire about the National Office that Steve says might have been in Boston. Really great to get the detailed response from Steve for Media Archive Purposes. Much Thanks to the both of you!

Hammerjacks was the best place in the Baltimore area for concerts after Painters Mill was gone. I would trade the Ravens for having Hammerjacks back any day.

I was stationed 84/85 in PAX River just a hour or so drive from DC. I listened to the Grease Man every more going to work and laughed my butt off. Love the stories he made up!

My first introduction to the Greaseman was in Florida on WAPE. My dad used to listen to him and told me as a young kid. Then later I moved to DC and found him again on DC101 (The BIG STICK) I tell you radio in those days was absolute gold. They played cat and mouse with the FCC. It was a time we will never get back. I used to laugh so hard I would almost run off the road. I had to pull over a few times. Man I miss you Jonny Bulky.
