Hello. If u stay at the Grand Punta Cana resort can you eat at all the others and use their pool and stuff or just the Grand

As I commented in your other video, this can hardly be deemed oceanview. Sure,…one can see some blue ocean…..but really… And 4113 IS In FACT on the second floor. Except if you numbered as they do in the States. By the way #4113 means Building 4, 1st floor above ground floor, room number 13. I have stayed in 4113 and 4013 on previous visits ! I even remember the big dark spot in the middle of the coffee table. Both suites are nice and private. Other guests in adjacent rooms can’t see people on these balconies. You can scratch your butt in private while enjoying the morning sun and that lovely Princess coffee you just made (Yuck !!)

Yes I agree that the floor above ours is a better ocean view. We were happy with the proximity to the beach. The Jacuzzi was private and enjoyable on a rainy day. The coffee should be called black water with a hint of artificial coffee. I think I will stick to the D.R for beaches as they are much better without that bad ocean smell. Thanks for the feedback. There are two hotels. The Grand Riviera Princess, and The Grand Sunset Princess. Refer to them as the Riviera or Sunset. NOT the Sunset and the Grand as you inadvertently reported. The raccoon-like animals are Coaties. Pronounced coe-AWE-tees (accent on the upper case) Normally there are lots of monkeys too. Perhaps the hurricane caused them to relocate temporarily? I have stayed there often and I would prefer to advise ‘newby’s there are NO OCEANVIEW rooms. Once in a while they’ll cut back the mangrove such that one can get get a glimpse of the ocean, but hardly oceanview. But who needs oceanview when one can spend all day at the beach ?! Also there is significant upgrades to stay in Platinum, so one should check it out when booking. Also, no mention of the shuttles running up and down both sides of the property all day ?!!

We have just been booked in this hotel, looking at the restaurant menus. What is the 15$ that's appearing underneath each menu? Are we allowed to use any of the pools? I can see xmas decorations. Did you go over Christmas? I'm trying to find out what happens Christmas day?

Good video. Just a couple remarks. You said in the video that Platinum is Oceanview but there are very few rooms in Platinum both on the Grand Sunset side and the Grand Riviera side that are actually Oceanview. Also depending on who you book your trip through, your transfer from the airport to the resort maybe included in your trip. Anyone that is unsure should check with your travel agent. We fly Air Canada out of Vancouver and our transfer is included. We have flown Westjet and also Sunwings and when buying the package the transfers are also included. This resort is amazing and we have been going here for the last 7 years. We stay in the Villas and highly recommend the Villas. It has its own pool with lunch served poolside. Also the area is exclusive to Villa guests and all others will be asked to leave the area. Also no kids allowed in this area.

Hello, yes not all have an ocean view but much of the platinum will have some sort of ocean view. The ones that don’t would be the ones facing the lobby side or the villa side. As for transfer, if you book with a travel agent, there is a possibility that your transfer is included in the price you pay. I booked this hotel and flight separately. The hotel offered a transfer at higher price than if I were to shop around myself. I ended up using Kalido travels for my transfer to and from the airport. Honestly, this was my first time in Mexico as I usually go to the Dominican Republic. I believe the beaches are much better in the D.R. (Punta Cana). Thank you for clarifying some points. Cheers

Is there a shuttle from the airport to the resort or do I need to get a taxi?

There are no free shuttles from the airport to the resort. You can book one on the Princess resort website. However, I did find it a little more pricier than the one I booked. The company I used was Kalidotravel. kalidotravel.com/ This was a private shuttle so no need to wait for others to join. They were also on time both ways. Good luck. I highly recommend booking a transfer before you get there. Do NOT use the taxis at the airport as they are expensive and can scam you by making you pay extra when you get to the resort. They will hold your luggage hostage till you pay and definitely do not use a credit card for a regular taxi ride.

I booked with Kalido travels kalidotravel.com/ and payed about $140 USD for round trip and they were on time both ways. This was a private transfer for 2 people. We did not have to share or wait for anyone.

No, only the beach area food is shared between Grand Bavaro and the Grand punta cana which includes the beach buffet and the Trucker restaurant. Also the a la cart restaurant are shared but nothing to brag about.

Yes,you can access the resorts but not eat drink or swim in them. Only if you have for exampke the higher end luxury versions resort like the Ambar or Esmeralda can you then drink and use the whole resort amenities. the food in the luxury a la cart are incredible compared to the regular resorts.

Nice video, I’m from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and it’s the first video I see from remodeled rooms at Bahia Príncipe Punta Cana, I frequently all the Bahia Príncipe on log weekends and I saw in November 2023 all the hard work and demolition of rooms while I’m staying at Fantasia.

No, this is the the grand. the Esmeralda is a separate resort but also newly renovated and looks nicer than the Grand renovations.

Was thinking of staying here but that's a lot of walking to get from one point to another and definitely won't have the patience to be waiting for rides. Are there scooters you can rent?

I did not see any scooters but did see a few people on bicycles. However, the wait time for the carts at any point in the day was no more than 4-5 minutes. Unless you want to stay near the beach and pay extra if you don’t want to walk too much. But not a bad idea to have scooters for customers or allow personal scooters on the properties for transportation.

Honestly, they are sister resorts. The top one was the Luxury Ambar adults only if you don’t have kids. If you do, I would recommend the luxury Esmeralda which is newly remodeled and looks amazing. Have fun!

July is usually rainy season or hurricane season from my understanding. So I would avoid July and do December for your school holidays as it’s always in the 80s in December and the video is December too.

Great vid thx for sharing. Thinking about here for March. Was at the Bahia principe coba last year had a blast. My girls loved the food truck glad its there. So re the rooms they're not fully completed yet? Have to upgrade to newer ones correct? Cheers

Glad you enjoyed the tour. So not all rooms are remodeled, only the 2 floor villas near the pool area are the newly remodeled ones. The Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda is the one that is fully remodeled and family friendly. The luxury Ambar is the best out of all 6 resorts but it’s adults only. March is a great time especially for whale watching as an excursion. Enjoy my friend.

Well, I would say about 15 min. Also, don’t forget that they have the transportation carts that come every 3-5 min. So if you’re not into walking just wait and you’ll arrive before the walkers do.

Yes and no! The last day I was leaving I went to 3 ATM’s at all the Bahias to get money for the cleaning lady. No luck on finding one with cash. Had to get money at the airport and give to the driver that would give to the bellboy that would deliver it to the cleaning lady. So far the driver got some money, the bellboy too and still waiting on confirmation for the cleaning lady. Take dollar bills with you before you go. Enjoy!
