Damn I’m weeping, remembering when I first listened to this song out of Mellon collie at 12 back in 1996. You often hear “it saved my life” and I couldn’t say it any different despite of being a cliche, for a troubled lonely kid it defintely did. I felt so embraced and understood. Thank you for your music, Billy.

Maybe tune without the capo first, genius. It wouldn't take so long.

Awesome story! listening the rocky version of the song since the last hour. yes, shitty movie, got it on VHS (or used to when I was a kid) but damn good song. On my top 3 of Smashing Pumpkins... Thank you Bill for this story and your rage, the memories and also the story of there and back again with the lost fender guitar. They all are pure joy! cheers!

Why won’t the fans admit he’s tweaking? Wanna act like he’s an alcoholic.. what’s with the obsessive nose wiping? And that dance at the end 😭. I feel like I can’t in good conscience show up to one of their shows.

Unprofessional and a sad way to present one’s art to the public. Don’t excuse addiction. People who do see their loved ones die before their eyes

Longtime fan here. I love Billy but he's really got a big mouth sometimes. Calling the Watchmen movie "a piece of sh**" is pretty silly even as a joke. It's definitely one of the best comicbook adaptations I've seen.

I love both versions of this song. They are so much greater than the films they were used in. I enjoyed hearing that Billy and I had the same viewing experiences here.

Fool enough to almost be it Cool enough to not quite see it Doomed Pick your pockets full of sorrow Run away with me tomorrow June Try, ease the pain Somehow we'll feel the same Well, no one knows Where our secrets go I send a heart to all my dearies When your life is so, so dreary Dream I'm rumored to the straight and narrow While the harlots of my perils Scream And I fail But when I can, I will Try to understand That when I can, I will Mother weep the years I'm missing All our time can't be given Back Shut my mouth and strike the demons Cursed you and your reasons Out of hand and out of season Out of love and out of feeling So bad When I can, I will Words defy the plan When I can, I will Fool enough to almost be it Cool enough to not quite see it Old enough to always feel this Always old, I'll always feel this No more promise no more sorrow No longer will I follow Can anybody hear me I just want to be me When I can, I will Try to understand

I met my (now) husband at a bar the night before this concert and my friend cancelled on me for this show, so I invited the guy I met 12 hours before. We are now married with 2 sweet kids and we listen to this recording all of the time to remind us of our first date. Thanks for posting <3
