Been struggling on this for days. Just managed to almost beat it following some tips here. When using dodge, my flag guy didn't move with the rest of the units. Just stood there and died to a claw attack. I hate how random this game is. I couldn't have done better, hadn't lost any health to the boss until then.

So you're telling me you have to fill up a meter in the Japanese version of the game just to get your hero to use their ultimate? Kind of wish I got that

Its not exclusive to Japanese version, its exclusive to the hard difficulty in game. In medium and easy it doesn't exist, but in hard you need 2-3 perfect combos to activate hero mode

BurgerYT :O just fill up all the trees you'll get all of them. But for toripons it's in yaripon tree near the end.. Btw I killed the regular first boss in 4 secs with my really old army on psp now my psp needs a new batterie so I play on ps vita. If you want that type of time I recommend using the wizard patapons as your hero SOOOO OP KILL HIM IN ONE SHOT ok I'm done bye

it was fireball casted by the mages, there are also priests there to support with healing whenever you cast pon pon chaka chaka or the charge

una cosa mas facil qe tu heroe sea un tatepon por el campo de fuerza y kibapon de alta velocidad para mi quitan mucho ps pero te convendria eso yaqe solo atacas mientras el heroe hace la defensa :)
