Been struggling on this for days. Just managed to almost beat it following some tips here. When using dodge, my flag guy didn't move with the rest of the units. Just stood there and died to a claw attack. I hate how random this game is. I couldn't have done better, hadn't lost any health to the boss until then.

Im sure those patapons are upgraded but its amazing you can win only using normal ones. Thanks for teaching fever canceling. It was hard to win against this boss without going to full tree-pons for constant stagger or using final rarepons. BTW, have you gotten the healing staff? I cant farm it anywhere. I haveen redoing karmen missions and stlll no luck.. Hehe..

I found a way to kill cioking! It can save your time! Put your hero to a yumipon and use either form of the ultimate rarepons (sabara, gyaba, or mogyu), let him use an ice bow and put your mask to shubabasaa (final form of the default hero mask).

probably, in my opinion, the best way to fight Ciokina and Cioking is to equip your BEST stew and have some VERY STRONG EQUIPMENT. Demon AND Divine equipment. Make your hero a "Hero at the back" or a Yumipon, Mahopon or Megapon. He (or she) will stay at the back and when he doesn't obey your order, he still evades the attack. Luckily, Ciokina or Cioking will have no chance to attack because he/she will stagger like crazy.

ps: get a spear patapon as your hero patapon , step 2 get the dark red patapon ( that looks like a plant ) get it to level 10 get a critial spear or light spear something light that and you get infinate knockback :D

That looks hard... I'm just going to go all out on him with tatespon's on steroids, a hero robopon, magic pon's(forgot names), and some more robopon's. If that doesn't work then I'm going to make an entire army of level ten tree pon's and hope that he won't even be able to attack.

Oh my god thank you a million times for this video. I used to do Fever cancel in the first game because the music/timing wasn't synched, but then they fixed that problem in Patapon2 and I totally forgot about it. XD; Ciokina's such a bitch to defeat asdfgghjgfds

I beat this boss with 3 monkey mahopons equipped with Heaven, Divine and Demonic staffs, 4 tree and 2 mushroom yumipons, and kibapons equipped with great thunder lances. The poor crab couldn't even move once.

And also, you can kiss your Hatapon (flag bearer) good bye if he were to get hit by the Crab's claw attack. Lastly, the new bubble attack that the Crab spits out. You might want to avoid that at all cost. If your Hero gets caught in it, not only will he get killed, he'll retire from the ENTIRE battle.

you can use the pata pon don chaka to evade the BUBBLES that makes you sleep.

this boss is easy, i recommend using yumipon (rarepon the tree thing lvl 10) and equip with a divine weapon. why the tree rarepon, because it has 200%cnc plus the 100 that gives the divine weapon makes 325% which means almost all stagger and its easy.

if you use tatepons, they can make a large gap between cioking and your hatepon, death-claw attacks will be more likely to miss, no need to fever cancel. just make sure you still try to run away, even with tatepons, works for me. Also, if you levelled your patapons they might kill it faster. Also, those symbols that appear around fever (the skull and those white symbols), what do they mean?

It serves as warning each time you hit 4 drum beats bad. The next time you do it again whilst the skull is present, it will cancel your fever.

Its not exclusive to Japanese version, its exclusive to the hard difficulty in game. In medium and easy it doesn't exist, but in hard you need 2-3 perfect combos to activate hero mode

I completely hate that boss. I kill everything else with ease, and he utterly destroys me every time I try to beat him. Usually by killing Hatepon with one hit, because that attack is not tuned to the rhythm - I see him opening and closing his claws, but I do not have the time to ponpataponpata my way out of there :(
