@@ursodermatt8809 Not sure what warm air you had in mind haha 🤣🫢. On a cold night I'll do some exercise to warm up my core temperature. It's hard to stay warm in a double quilt with the draft in the middle and two people trying to wrestle for their share of blanket 🤪 not recommended. Hey thanks for your comment 👍

@@noahLovesSouthport allow 2 hours over 7 km conservatively. It is a fairly pleasant walk.

I think you'll find the stinging tree was in fact Dendrocnide excelsa, not D. moroides, which occurs further north in general.

Just for your information it is not an old school house it was our family home for 40 years filled with love and laughter. Glad you enjoyed camping there

Thank you for letting us know. It's really hard to find any information on this home which would have been very beautiful in its day. On the All Trails App it has been called an abandoned school house which is where we got the information from. Was it relocated when they made the dam? And yes, we all had an amazing stay there. Thank you 😊

@@SteveDavsEpicAdventures When my late wife and I first moved there we lived in a tent for 18 months. We used to come through 6 gates and a set of slip rails to get to the property. Wyaralong was owned by my wife's Grandfather Colin Philp. Where the house is located is known as "The Twelve Mile." The older part of the house came from Eaglesfield St in Beaudesert we dismantled it board by board and rebuilt it ourselves. After a time we built a bridge over the Teviot which did away with the gate and the slip rails. The newer part of the house came from Burdekin Street in Enoggera and was moved by a house remover. As you can probably imagine the above does not include all the dramas.

@@kiap66 thank you for sharing. It's always nice to get the real history of a place. Have you considered putting a plaque on the property so people can learn how it's been acquired by SEQ Water and the history of the home? Everybody who visits has questions when visiting I'm sure as to its history, as did we. It's such a great property and building.

Well done guys! We visited lots of places around Australia but Steamers track is still on my list for years. Need to go there this winter!
