To be clear "spastic" isn't regarded as a slur or even particularly offensive in the U.S., that's purely a British English/U.K. thing. Nintendo also found this out the hard way when their American localizers used the word in the English release of Mario Party 8 only to have to recall and rerelease it in the U.K. (hilariously the same exact thing happened with the Ubisoft release of "Mind Quiz" a year earlier, I guess it wasn't big news in the States.)

I remember this controversy, jason schreier was well known even back then for causing issues on small things. His whole article on dragon's crown design was over blown and when he got clapped back he cried. This back back in the era when crying bullies were a big thing

Ironically, once the climate colapses, not enough clean drinkable water and edible food is widely available anymore, (we are much closer to collapse than anticipated by scientists a decade ago), the ones more likely to survive would be those without gaming collections, because they will have actual money in their bank accounts 😅

Consumerism and it's most prevalent hyper form, is directly linked with driving low self esteem, depression and anxiety. Not to mention division, "us" Vs "them" mentality. As marketing techniques rely heavily on making their audience feel unhappy with themselves so they can sell them a "solution" that A) is designed for short term relief and B) it was not necessary in the first place.

TALES OF DESTINYYYYY

Huge Growlanser fan, but I will probably wait for the G6 patch to be finished since it's still very much WIP even though it can be played to completion. I remember having so many issues with the Amagami fanTL technical wise. Didn't play the most up-to-date patch, but can't imagine it's all that better. That's one title that could really benefit from an official release given the technical hurdles, but doubt it will happen.

I love the Amagami SS animes. I'm surely going to give this game a try.

I'm a simple woman; I see Etrian Odyssey in the title and I watch it. It's interesting to hear the perspective of the fans who came into the series with the 3DS games vs the DS trilogy. I have to admit I don't love the Untold games, but I think a lot of fans were too critical of them, particularly fans who started with the original DS titles. Great video! ❤

So funny story. I’m new to let’s playing, only been doing them for a year. Originally I was going to do one for GrimGrimoire OnceMore, I had it fully recorded and everything, but I never uploaded it because I thought the results weren’t great. That said I’m planning on doing Dragon’s Crown Pro in the future, and maybe Unicorn Overlord, since the latter felt more like Fire Emblem than Fire Emblem Engage, one of my biggest disappointments in recent years

The ease of being able to import has definitely been a struggle for me, just in terms of the wallet, before you even get to the environmental impact. Lately, though, I've been trying to be a bit more intentional in what I'm buying, so I think I'm getting onto the right track.

I was in Tokyo last month and there were tons of games, I picked up Xenoblade 3 and Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2 second hand on the Switch. This was at the Book Off at Shinjuku station...

I am from an Arabian country where retailers used to sell both pal and American games but that was before we had our own age rating system and now it is illegal for local retailers to sell games that don’t have the local age rating on the cover excluding games released before the system was made naturally. The odd thing here is before the system was made games on Nintendo consoles that were for my country were American copies that had my country’s name on it on the back along others despite our region being a pal region and other console makers treating the region accordingly. Though I don’t know if switch games here are pal or not since all local games have the local age rating

I'm guilty of deliberately trying to collect my Switch games with the Australian rating, as I like the visual consistency and it satisfies my OCD 😅 However, of course I'll import games that don't get physical stock down here in Australia, especially all the visual novels, JRPGs, and waifu games, haha. I haven't imported anything (yet?) to my home in the U.S., but I got into otome games this year - LinLinLavender is how I found your channel! - and I bought some games and merch from individuals in my own country on Mercari. Buyers are now in 2024 responsible for (all?) the transaction fees, limiting my search to the USA severely limits my options, and the majority of otome-related listings are not cheap. Plus, I've bought enough Hakuoki merch, especially after fees, to have bought at least bought two more games instead. 😅 I've gone digital on some, but I prefer the plug-and-play physical media when available and I can afford it.

great video (so far, just started watching and not even halfway in!) I've been trying to find information on how vanillaware does their animations. I think it's somekind of a 2d bone animation / puppet animations with different layers on each moving object... kinda like abode animate, spline, dragonbones or live2d type... but I think they have in house thing for this, like rayman legends. I've been interested in these types of animation styles, as they can make painterly arts that animate really beautifully, but sadly there's not much info on games that use these, not many devs seem to let people see under the hood. :( if you find anything out, would be cool to know! but myself couldn't find anything, even reading waybackmachine articles and the like.
