Do we need to add offset allowance so the parts can fit snugly?

You shouldn’t have to if your plywood is 18mm thick

My experience with plywood is that the exposed ply is very prone to splintering. How do you deal with the splintering?
@Andy-iw9su
@Andy-iw9su 10 сағат бұрын
Baltic birch or Europly will sand and stain without splintering much.

@@Andy-iw9su hasn’t been my experience to be honest. i had to put zpoxy over the edges to keep them from snagging skin or clothes.

When you have a fraction of a percent of this guys talent and skill you can pop off about who's "manlier" Btw those straps are steel so you'd need both hands too, plus your momma in the corner for moral support.

Was just gonna comment those sheet metal shears worked wonders on those metal straps. P.s. you need two hands to use sheet metal shears when cutting metal (for the average person)

I'd build a vertical sled and clamp it to that then push the sled. Basically looks like a vertical board with a box on the back that fits over the fence and slides along it.

Why does no one have a foot kill switch. It’s like 20$. Finish your cut, step on the pedal, machine turns off. Very simple.

I'll never forget when I almost launched a chunk of wood into my bud's abdomen in the middle of our first time on the table saw. High school shop class was real character development.

HS shop class is when you officially graduate from a boy to a man. Kid in my class fainted during a safety lecture, fell into the spindle sander and turned it on, his long hair got caught in it and it ripped off a half dollar size chunk of his scalp. It was pretty gnarly.

Everyone saying you need to push through doesn't realize that the wood got caught on the insert of the tablesaw cutout. Maaybe a sled would do you good for these smaller awkward cuts.

Bro! Use your push stick down low and clear your material from blade, then deal with the fall off. It’s not worth the hand getting sucked into that blade.

Can see it got hung up at the edge of the plate/saw intersection. Best bet in that scenario is to either SLOWLY reach for the off switch while holding the piece in place(not backing up or shifting it)…wait for blade to safely stop, or slowly lift it straight up with two hands….the blade is at a 45 so any upward lift immediately removes the piece from the blade. Obviously it wasn’t intentional, but if that scenario ever occurs, sliding the piece back is always a poor first option.

Very dangerous considering it’s on a 45. That trick works on a square blade. Ideally, you will put a shim under the throat to make it flush. Otherwise the only thing you can do at that point is to delicately kill the power. Butthole clincher at the very least haha
