I had this in 88. Christian's run was better. He was pretty the only guy who could give Hawk a run for his money.

Wait, what? Was there no police department in Irvine in 1988?!? I can assure you this- Larry Agran would see to it that there would NEVER under NO circumstances EVER BE A REPEAT OF THIS!!

Tentacles of destruction was the first skate video i bought at a local shop as a 10 year old kid. Had no idea the level this part was at until years later, and now watching it, its funny how all his enders (legendary hubba hideout tricks) were just thrown into the part at the beginning, and his last trick of his part was a sw heel on some makeshift skatepark ramp.

They say it went to the Birdman because he did a few more tricks on the mini ramp.... Magnusson should have won. He could flip his board. Those old H Street boards were the best.

It actually looks better without the tacky bezel and cluttering text around the buttons. The side art you never see anyway. It all gives it a "clean" look. Am I the only one who thinks this.

For those wondering what happened to Matt, this is posted by his mother on the Legacy obituary page. I hope this brings some closure. Really sad, but here it is pasted right from the source: What really happened to Matt Mantz written by his family Missing our sweet son, a talent that burned out too soon!! Please everyone...beware of judgement. We learned the hard way that mental illness is so hard to diagnose...and harder to treat! Back in 1999 we thought Matt was an alcoholic...rehab diagnosed him as Bipolar (what was that?) Huge learning curve ensued. On his meds/off his meds. Alcohol/drugs (self medicating) years of rescue, mental institutions, rescue, homeless, 2 attempted suicide, rescue, incarcerated, rescue... He never skated again He would balance for awhile on his meds then stop. The road was jagged. He was then diagnosed with Schizophrenia and at one point talked to 6 voices in his head. More drama more ups and downs. Finally in 2013 he started coming back to us full time. He was clean and sober, on his meds, involved in our life weekly and all holidays. He prided himself being able to be independent living in his own apartment. He was never able to work again. His happiest moments were coming to our place and spending time with the farm animals and his 2 nieces. He would do legos, do his tricks on the trampoline, swim- throwing them up high in the air, (he worked out 5 days a week). When he played on the floor with transformers and Marvel heros with the he was so joyful. He was kind, sweet, gentle, and a human calculator. He tried so hard to keep focused, but even till the end he had one voice in his head everyday- day and night. Then the Angels came to take him home. He had a heart attack. We are eternally sad but so relieved that his journey on earth is done. Thank you all so much from all over the world for your kindness, concern, love and wonderful memories, photos and videos that have been shared. We remember how he floated when he would skate, danced across the asphalt. He was free and fearless RIP...

got to meet both of these legends during their xgames appearance in ventura last summer. was amazing to realize that Christian was really a humble and kind dude. I rode a hammerhead in the mid 80’s when he was doing things no one could and higher than anyone above the coping. Lucky to have been born when i was and love skateboarding from 77-now. Too bad we gotta run out of knee cartilage. Help us Kryptonics-you’re our only hope!

The most impressive thing is they did all this with dance club lighting. 720 in a run is absolutely wild for 88.
