The great-grand daughter of General Dyer epitomizes all that is wrong with (still) class ridden Britain. That interview with her really exposes "British empire" and its legacy. The wealth, the condescending tone....says it all.

What a mind! If he'd been born poor, he still would have risen to the top of society. He took all of his jobs as a husband, father, intellectual, accountant, architect and more very seriously and put his whole self into it!

Minute 18:10 shows how ignorant Japanophiles are when it comes to Western culture. That paining was made in 1495, according to Dr. Japan Bro here, the Monalisa or birth of Venus or the Sistine chapel were totally unoriginal (assuming that's the sense of "audatious" he's trying to refer) by comparison. European artists started from religious icons, mastered color blending, human anatomy, light and perspective, nothing impressive. Sumi-e started from calligraphy and a painting depicting a landscape in fog done in that style is so much more original... just appreciate art for what it is and stop comparing between them.

A fascinating subject completely ruined by the usual patronising, girly voice over. Totally unnecessary to dumb everything down as if it were a children’s programme.

Ah, so here we are again, peeling back the layers of this so-called “great” nation, with its peculiar obsession with moral superiority, all while standing atop a mountain of stolen wealth. England, the land that loves to remind itself of its global significance, clings desperately to an identity forged in the fires of empire, yet wilfully ignores the grotesque reality of how that empire was built. It’s baked into the psyche, isn’t it? This idea that Britain-this damp little island-must be superior to the rest of the world. How else to explain the historical amnesia that allows us to celebrate kings and queens who profited from the most heinous crimes humanity has ever known? This isn’t “revisionist history”; it’s simply history. A royal family-still at the apex of power-whose ancestors endorsed and enriched themselves from slavery, whose imperial policies orchestrated genocides, whose system entrenched classism so deeply that its scars are visible in every corner of society today. And the irony? The island boasts about its “tolerance” while actively demonizing anyone who doesn’t fit into its narrow definition of Britishness. It’s as if the very blood running through this nation’s veins carries with it a twisted form of superiority complex-a legacy of inbreeding, yes, but also of cultural insulation. Centuries of telling themselves they were the “civilizing” force while brutalizing countless lives across continents. It’s not just history, though, is it? This arrogance thrives today. You see it in the rhetoric of politicians who invoke “sovereignty” while stripping rights from their own citizens. You hear it in the dog-whistle politics of immigration, in the sneering disdain for global institutions like the European Union-because, apparently, Britain’s “greatness” doesn’t need collaboration or equality. But let’s be honest-scratch beneath the surface, and it’s not greatness driving this narrative. It’s fear. Fear of losing a power they once wielded with impunity. Fear that the myths of empire are being dismantled. Fear that the voices they once silenced are now speaking truth to power. And nothing terrifies the inbred mindset of supremacy more than being exposed for what it really is: hollow, fragile, and utterly unsustainable. So, yes, let’s call it what it is. A system designed to uphold privilege, protected by those who benefit most from it, and insulated by a nation unwilling-or unable-to face its own reflection. Thank god William had enough sense to leave a sinking ship of vampirical entitled overpaid executives of the worst order.

She really believed that she could be Queen. When she realized it was impossible she wanted to end the relationship but Edward threatened to find her no matter where she went. He was basically a stalker and an emotional blackmailer. She actually did Britain a favor by Edward abdicating to marry her. He supported Hitler.

Not many eligible men would have been a good match with Victoria, I feel, but Albert ticked most of the boxs. He gained the queen's affection from day 1, and was a person of immense strength and vision. He was instrumental in British progress in the 19th Century.🎯

Royal Family sent plenty of food, from USA - coz UK was also suffering food shortages. Unfortunately, the Irish Elite, thought Peasants should slog for the food. Emaciated people of course, can't slog. It was an attitude problem in Ireland , caused the food not to be distributed. An "anti-aid" attitude. They told Royal Family that it was being distributed.

@@LindaRiley-x5cand had it not been for his grandmother the unspeakable treacherous Lady Fermoy , Lady in waiting to the Queen Mother, Althorp and its lands would have gone under the banner to pay off crippling death duties. It’s all about “ good connections” which the Spencer’s craved , the marriage of Charles and Diana was a contractual affair . Diana was not shy or naive , she knew exactly what she was doing and why, her sister failed to secure a match so Diana knew how essential it was that she succeeded.
