Yay I'm so happy you picked up this tag!!! 🥹💞 I think you can definitely apply the genres to whatever medium of entertainment you'd like ... I'm just a movie person 😄 Your deck choices for each prompt are 🤌🤌 !!! Jupiter power def gives off body horror vibes. And Dios de los Tres is sooo actiony! Great picks all around ... Loved it!!!

When creating the Bee tarot they just thought - ok, no one ever likes courts anyway, let's just not bother with them ;) (kidding). But yeah, the courts are so weird here. Similar when people like you said and then suddenly those bee courts they're like - what the hell is going on. Obviously it's bee themed tarot but why it's not all courts then? (I know it sounds they would be hella same then, but at least it would feel more consistent. Also they didn't need to depict just bee on itself (like those courts are if I remember well), but doing different things but more zoomed in? (I think other cards are more like whole scenes) You know like a bee worker (don't know the english term) feeding a bee larva for Queen of pentacles? (not sure if it actually fits now, but that's what came to my mind now). I'm still kind of hesitating if buy or not though... And I totally understand what you mean with tarot of the witch's garden being beautiful pictures but not having tarot feel! I have The Golden Wheel tarot and I totally love it but I'm pretty sure that one of the reasons it speaks to me so well, it's because its Slavic nature and I'm from (and living in) Slavic country and so it often speaks to me through some very personal associations from my past. With that being said I don't mean that non-Slavic person couldn't use this tarot, it's just that for me it's not just another RWS clone :). And it IS gorgeous and beautiful :))

I guess it depends on your definition of shaman, but I don't believe shaman is only a siberian term, or only a native american term. to my understanding, shaman is a role in hunter gatherer societies where a person enters an altered state of consciousness/alternate reality in order to gain knowledge or power to aid someone in consensus reality. ALL humanity began as hunter gatherer societies so I think it's pretty hard to make a case for cultural appropriation. some cultures have more persistence of shamans in the present day/in cultural formats other than hunter gatherer than others, certainly, but celtic folklore describes people traveling to alternate realities - the underworld, faerie, etc. - to solve consensus reality problems. I think sometimes our familiarity with the stories of our own cultures blinds us to the cross-cultural structural similarities. it can go too far into an exoticization of other cultures rather than a recognition of our common human roots. the spirit world a south american indigenous shaman enters into with jaguar spirits etc. may seem to embody "shamanism" to a european audience, but the word shaman itself is from the russian, from siberian tribespeople. if it can apply to other non-western cultures, then, given that the basic structural definition is met, why not to celtic culture as well?

I am flipping through Sistine Tarot while I watch this... I got a copy of the Voyager guidebook at a second hand bookstore last month, and I have been thinking about getting the deck... but as I watch this, I realize that I probably have way more collage decks than I thought. 😮 Danielle Noel, Kat Black, MJ Cullinane and Kim Krans. I also have some great ones that were gifted. Aqua Maree, Adept, and Jumbledance. Definitely need to play with all these toys. 🎉🎉🎉

Great Video ❤! You’re probably gonna wanna add a part two video once you hear about the Spirit Keepers Tarot!!! it is IMHP the greatest Tarot guidebook of all time! It’s close to 800 pages in color with every tarot reference you can possibly imagine. The author also wrote close to a 400 page workbook in addition to the guidebook!!! the books and the cards just blow my mind every time I use it. Benebel Wen has several versions of his deck, but the best one is the current version Revelations because she adds in the correspondences of the I Ching. Check it out as I think you’ll love it 🌈🤗🙏🏾.

I love this video! I want to shout-out the Zerner/Farber Tarot, AKA the Enchanted Tarot (same art, different cards), because that guidebook is amazing! It's a big ol Llewellyn sized book with really helpful entries that cover multiple applications or interpretations of the cards. I also really like the guidebook for the Wyspell deck called Neoteric Feminine Tarot. It's Little Full Color Book that is SUPER beginner friendly. It largely ignores the esoteric but really helps you understand how to apply the meanings to real life in exchange. Very good for learning. Ofc I'd mention the Tarot of Vampyres but you beat me to it. I want to get into the Voyager Tarot so bad but I really believe it'd just piss me off like how the Wanderer's Tarot does. Excellent video, as always! Thank you for makin it.

Arg, I just love mini decks so much. My pocket Next World gets more play than my og version. I really look forward to hearing how you get on with it. I got halfway through the A Year in the Wildwood workbook last year and tomorrow marks the day I need to pick it back up again if I want to finish it (I remember putting it aside last year and can't believe how quickly it's swung around again). I can't believe a deck that is about the ecology of the planet has AI art, which is so detrimental to the environment! And that's before you get to the samey art, lack of titles on the majors or the plain backs. It's such a shame when an eagerly anticipated deck disappoints so much. Where does one get these vouchers you speak of? Are they discount codes or are you referring to gift cards? Just looking to save some pennies 'cos I'm a bear of limited means. x

I've been hesitating over the Wild Wood for *years.* I think it's two things; first that it's a knock-off of the Greenwood; second, that I am not a huge fan of the art style or Mark Ryan's takes on things. I think I might be a bit of a contrarian 😅
