One of my degrees is in psychology. While at university, when I was really learning in-depth about the placebo effect, I came to the conclusion that what psychologists call the placebo effect is called magick in other circles. The placebo effect is literally us changing our world through sheer force of will. That’s basically the definition of magick. Thanks for sharing your haul and your thoughts!

Love this perspective! I remember I started reading ‘why woo-woo works’ and the first section was about the placebo effect too, it’s so cool. Thanks for watching 🥰

The books were so cool, especially that big Tarot one! The Gustav Dore is so cool, I just can't do that much black and white, but love its vibe and glad you're enjoying it. And OMG I literally just got Everything You Do Is Magic Tarot today 😂 what a coincidence!

Haha totally fair, I thought Gustave Dare was too too much black and white and detail but in person I love it anyway. Yay for ELTYDIM (I'm not typing all that out lol)

I’m so interested in the New Directions in Tarot. Sounds so fun and I’m a former theatre kid so I’m absolutely into it. 😍

That anatomy book! Oh my goodness what a stunning edition. Also I loved Divine Might, and Thinking Fast and Slow was so much more readable than I expected, and that complex systems book is going straight in my wishlist. Ugh what an amazing selection of books, they’ve made my heart go pitter patter.

There's a great book called Sophie's World. Its an into to philosophy via a fiction/fantasy story. It's great.

Omg that anatomy coffee table book is so cool!!! I've seen some people on booktube who read coffee table books from cover to cover and I think that's so cool and I want to do that with mine lol. Ooh, I've been thinking about the Medieval feathers but I don't like the keywords... I kind of want to get it and trim it, but I'm unsure how it'd look without borders. A big dilemma. 😝

I love the idea of reading them cover to cover, I expect I will with these especially because they were gifts. I get what you mean about the medieval feathers, it does suit the borders!
