I have a 2024 FX cruiser I mounted 2-3 gallon fuel tanks and 1-2 gallon water tank (purchase an extension to mount gas and water tank on one side), I want to carry enough to make a difference. The gas gauge it’s almost useless as far as accuracy goes so I carry more than I think I would ever need, it’s a better way to go then trying to guess what’s actually in the gas tank using the factory gas gauge. Upgrades….I purchased the rear deck extension (Rec-Deck) the factory rack, which has the extendable sides, the gas and the water tanks mounted on the outside of the rack. It has plenty of room for an ice chest, or whatever in between I mounted 3 pop-a-vent (made in Montana) because I put a spout on the water tank which needs a vent so you don’t get the glug glug and the two gas tanks because I live in my area of Nevada where temperature swings are huge and the gas tanks tend to expand and contract drastically, causing needless wear and tear. They are high-quality and very adjustable

Why did you have to run it for 5 minutes. I have a wave runner sv ho supercharge 2018. I bought brand new i took to the dealer at 10 hours and 100 hours but i think that i will do the tune up myself they charge too much. you make it look easy thanks

I think perhaps using lock wire is a bit of overkill. You could have bent one side of the cotter pin around the bolt so that it would not work its way out. And... I think also the system is meant to be removed if not in use so removing the cotter pins might be a bit easier. Just a thought.

Great Vid, I just tried changing the oil in my 24 FX SVHO and the suction tube wasn't getting to the oil. I pulled out the hose and it was dry. Any recommendations on the type of hose to use? The hose I used is very similar to the hose you used. thanks!

How in the hell do you charge this freaking thing? I have read the instructions and taken a look at the diagrams, but there is no freaking instructions on how to plug it up and charge the rechargeable batter. Good grief!! Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanka.
@marcoprima2185 ай бұрын
Hi there! I understand the frustration! Let me guide you through the charging process for the Standard Horizon HX890. Charging the Standard Horizon HX890 Ensure Everything is in Place: Make sure the rechargeable battery pack is correctly installed in the radio. Set up the Charging Cradle: Connect the charging cradle to a power source using the supplied AC adapter or DC cable. Place the Radio in the Cradle: Place the radio in the charging cradle. You should feel it click into place. Indicator Light: Once the radio is properly seated, a red LED indicator light should turn on, indicating charging is in progress. The light will turn green when the battery is fully charged. Alternative Charging Method (Direct Charging): Direct Charging Port: Locate the charging port covered by a rubber cap on the side of the radio. Connect the Charger: Plug the AC adapter directly into the charging port. Indicator Light: The indicator light will also show the charging status (red while charging, green when fully charged). Troubleshooting Tips: Check Connections: Ensure that all cables are securely connected and the power source is functional. Inspect the Battery Pack: Make sure the battery pack is properly seated in the radio. Replace Battery if Necessary: If the battery isn't holding a charge or charging properly, it might need replacement. I hope this helps! Let me know if you need further assistance.

Can you use this 74sv with the gt54 transducer on lakes and in freshwater? Or is it strictly saltwater ocean?
@marcoprima2186 ай бұрын
Yes you can absolutely use it for freshwater. Some features like the side scanning will shine in this scenario.

Yes like was mentioned you can absolutely use the setup you mentioned in freshwater.

Thanks for the help! I figured with the 73SV and the 74sv with them both having gt54 transducers the only difference was the coastal maps where the 73 has the inland maps! Was told you can just buy the inland maps on the 74sv and be the same. New to these! Thanks for help!
@savabadanau18255 ай бұрын
74sv comes with coastal, for inland need the 73sv map. Purchased it on SD card from Garmin. It now shows both maps without any issues.

It’s been a little while, how do you like it? Any changes you would make?
@socalpwcfishingАй бұрын
hey @timothybolton sorry for the super late response. I love it, I have take in to a few longer range trips now, zero issues. Its built solid. I would improve on the spout, being on the water and having to manager refueling with even a little bit of chop at regular intervals is tricky. A longer dedicated flexible tube would help and not having to flip it to start. I'll make an update video soon. Thanks for chiming in.

How do I acquire a MMSI number?
@socalpwcfishing7 ай бұрын
To acquire a Maritime Mobile Service Identity (MMSI) number, you usually need to follow a process set by the maritime authority or a similar organization in your country. An MMSI number is a unique nine-digit number used by maritime digital communication systems, like the Automatic Identification System (AIS), VHF radio, and other safety and navigation equipment, to identify ships and maritime communication stations. Here's a general outline of the steps involved in acquiring an MMSI number: Determine the Authority: First, find out which organization is responsible for issuing MMSI numbers in your country. In many cases, this will be the national maritime authority, telecommunications authority, or a specific maritime organization. Eligibility and Requirements: Check the eligibility criteria and what documents you need to submit. This typically includes proof of vessel ownership, vessel information (like type, length, and tonnage), and communication equipment details. Application Form: Complete the application form for an MMSI number. This form can usually be found on the website of the issuing authority. Payment: Some authorities may require a fee for processing the MMSI application. Check if there's a fee and how you can pay it. Submission: Submit your application along with all the required documents and payment (if applicable) to the designated authority. Processing: Wait for the application to be processed. The time it takes can vary depending on the authority and their workload. Issuance: Once your application is approved, you will be issued an MMSI number. Make sure to program this number into your maritime communication equipment as required. Registration with International Databases: In some cases, especially if you plan on international voyages, your MMSI number may need to be registered with international maritime databases. The issuing authority can usually guide you on this. Since the exact process can vary by country, it's important to consult the relevant authority or organization's website or contact them directly for the most accurate and detailed instructions.

Nice video!! Do you think it will compatible with the Garmin in hull transducer like gt8hw IH ? TiA
@socalpwcfishing7 ай бұрын
@chunlimon7862 Yes, the Garmin Echomap UHD 74SV is compatible with a wide range of Garmin transducers, including the GT8HW-IH. The GT8HW-IH is known for its high-wide CHIRP traditional sonar capabilities, which offer clear fish arches and excellent target separation. Given that the Echomap UHD series is designed to support advanced sonar features, including CHIRP technology, you should be able to take full advantage of the GT8HW-IH’s capabilities with the Echomap UHD 74SV. It’s always a good idea to check the latest compatibility charts on Garmin's official website or contact Garmin support directly to ensure that the transducer model you're interested in is fully compatible with your fish finder/chartplotter unit. This ensures that you can utilize all the advanced features without any issues. Happy fishing, and I hope you find the perfect setup for your needs!

so, it looks you can enter more than one mmsi in the radio? for two vessels? how do you select the one you want to use?
@jeffmurphy998711 ай бұрын
No you can only select one vessel number. The menu makes you do it twice and you must enter the same number twice or it will not accept it. It’s kinda misleading but just one MMSI number per VHF radio.

What is MMSI # and why do you need one?
@socalpwcfishing Жыл бұрын
In boating and satellite safety, an MMSI (Maritime Mobile Service Identity) number is a unique nine-digit identifier assigned to vessels equipped with Digital Selective Calling (DSC) capable VHF radios or satellite communication systems. The MMSI number serves as a digital "phone number" for your vessel within the maritime communication network. It is used primarily for safety and communication purposes. Here's why you need an MMSI number and how it's used: Emergency Situations: In the event of an emergency, such as a distress situation or a medical issue on board, you can use your vessel's DSC-equipped radio or satellite communication system to transmit a distress call containing your MMSI number. This allows search and rescue authorities to quickly identify your vessel and its location, enabling a faster response time. Calling Other Vessels: MMSI numbers are also used for making routine voice and data calls to other vessels equipped with DSC systems. This can be particularly helpful for communication during navigation, coordination, or when discussing safety matters. Automatic Identification System (AIS): In addition to DSC communication, MMSI numbers are also used with AIS transponders, which automatically broadcast vessel information such as identity, position, course, and speed to nearby vessels and shore stations. This enhances situational awareness and collision avoidance. Registration and Identification: MMSI numbers are used to uniquely identify individual vessels within maritime databases, registries, and systems. This aids authorities in tracking vessel movements, verifying ownership, and maintaining safety records. Maritime Regulations: Many maritime regulations and safety standards mandate the use of MMSI numbers for vessels operating in certain regions or conditions. This is to ensure efficient communication, coordination, and response during emergencies. Obtaining an MMSI number usually involves registering your vessel with the appropriate authority, such as the national telecommunications agency or maritime authority of your country. When using your MMSI-equipped communication equipment, it's important to familiarize yourself with the proper procedures for making distress calls, routine communications, and utilizing the features of your DSC and AIS systems. Overall, an MMSI number plays a crucial role in enhancing boating safety by providing a standardized and efficient means of communication and identification in the maritime environment.
