I have only used it once in a clam freshwater lake so maybe @gcjetskifishing can chime in. I'll get back to you one I fully test it out in open ocean but I don't see water intrusion becoming an issue.

@@socalpwcfishing that particular panel has nothing to do with preventing water entry into the ski, it is purely a cosmetic item :) main sealed hull areas are front hatch lid and under seat
