What does the sunflower oil taste like? Is there a big difference in cooking with it vs olive oil? How do you can your dry beans, what’s the process?
@ruggedmountainhomestead2 күн бұрын
@@juliefultz6715 the sunflower oil is actually very light. I haven’t noticed a bit of difference other than the olive oil having a more bold flavor. The sunflower oil has a high smoke point so you can use it for basically everything. My process how I can dry beans is not by the Ball book, which is why I haven’t done a video, but has never failed me. Super easy - 1/2 c dry beans per pint jar, 1/2 t. salt and fill jar with water to one inch headspace. Bring canner and jars to temperature at the same time. 75 minutes for pints at the pressure for your elevation.

I have had a few fails like that and it was either that I didn't allow enough headspace, a chip at the top of jar....or temp difference. One time, as soon as I lifted my pickles out of water bath....the bottom of the jar cracked and everything spilled out from the bottom. I was left holding the ring portion and that was it.
