The confidence thing doesn't work. I just finished this challenge myself it never worked, all my kids had neutral confidence up until I aged them up to teens, only then high confidence shows up. You just have to make sure that it doesn't display low confidence when you aged them up.

Love the series so far ❤ I've been playing along but gave up on the confidence because it feels bugged. Instead I decided to raise all values to green and one value all the way to the top. Its still a challenge but at least you can see progress being made.

Glad the doctor's set helped! Other things for character values are setting the dining table (not sure if it is manners or responsibility), and I think volunteering also helps (maybe also empathy) but takes a while. <3

8:49 i think the beetles come from the outdoor retreat dlc not the eco living one. Im pretty sure if you click the ye olde signpost and go to collect frogs you will come home with 2 of the outdoor retreat critters, like the bettle and stuff. I think thats how you get stuff to make bait without having to go the world.

If you want your sim to give a bath to your infant try turning off autonomy off if u have it on then your sim will listen and children wont bother you give it go
